Music is an enriching and fulfilling skill to develop as a child or as an adult.
Studies have shown that children who take music lessons do better in math and achieve better grades across the board.
Music develops motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and engages multiple parts of the brain.
Music is truly an amazing talent to develop, and can become a favorite hobby or even a career.
My piano lessons:
I love working with kids and cater each lesson to my students' individual tastes and needs.
I work with students ages 4 and up, and use a very special curriculum for my youngest students.
Each lesson includes learning new songs, developing finger strength and dexterity, and music theory.
I choose to have my students complete music theory during the lesson to eliminate unnecessary homework and possible confusion during the week.
I find that when students complete theory with me during their lessons, they understand it better and retain it without any frustration or extra stress that they might feel if they were completing it alone.
My voice lessons:
I have given vocal lessons to students ages 8 and up.
I teach basic vocal technique including breathing, diction, tonality, interpretation, vowel formation, and solfege (a singers way of reading music).
I use songs that the student loves and try to cater the lessons to their specific musical tastes.
For instance, I have one young student who loves Michael Jackson so we practice our vocal techniques on Michael's songs.
Students have a blast while learning and developing the skills that they need to become an amazing vocalist.
I hold two recitals each year, one is usually in the fall/winter, and the other one during spring.
I am very flexible with schedules and try to offer make up lessons whenever possible if you are unable to attend a lesson for any reason.
Please contact me if you are interested. I would truly love to be the one to introduce you or your child to music!
