What types of customers have you worked with?
About 50% of our work is print publications and books. We design and produce two national glossy magazines and numerous consumer books and covers, as well as corporate publications. In the last couple years client demand has given us the opportunity to design many digital publications as well (Kindle, iPad, ePub, etc...)
After publications, web sites (about 30%) followed by identity and marketing (15%).
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Referrals are a great way for designers and clients to meet. We always prioritize referrals from existing clients.
Be open minded. It's great to meet people who have a strong sense of identity and we do our best to work with a client's visual and conceptual preferences, but remember that you're paying for our education and experience, too. You'll usually get the best value and results from a project if you're not too firm in your preconceptions.
