great professional service very responsive and love kids enjoying Spanish lessons
Our 8-year old daughter has been taking piano lessons from Clifford and she really looks forward to her lessons. What we really liked was that Clifford took the effort to make a connection with our daughter, make the learning process fun while still challenging her. I like his approach of teaching the fundamentals without being too rigid so that she can develop her own style. I would definitely recommend Clifford.
Andi is am amazing person and a very patient teacher. I have been a student with Andi for about a year and can not find any more reasons to hit the class, he has helped me not just with the lessons, but loaning an instrument when I did not have, also extending help to chose an outstanding equipment, repair it. All my classes, lessons, sheets all are sent by him the next day of my classes, he monitors, takes initiative and hardly forgets a thing from the class. Very patient, down to earth teacher and his skills are just amazing. He helped me set my goals as per my preference and work towards them. His USP is his knowledge to theory as well as his skills on the board, amazing teacher to learn a new skill, very patient and accommodating - I travel 30 miles to take classes and every bit of it has been worth, for a newbie to music he has made me so comfortable with the instrument.
Kelly made the first lesson super fun and engaging for my boys. We will be continuing lessons with Kelly!
I hired Stella because of her great reviews. I came with my daughter and she was very patient, very attentive and super nice! We are looking forward to our next appointment!!
My girlfriend and I just got back from our first lesson and we felt that it was extremely helpful. The things that Max taught us seemed incredibly useful under the right circumstances and we felt that we came away with something valuable. We set up another month worth of lessons with Max and we're extremely excited to learn more about defending ourselves. Additionally, Max was very quick to respond to my original inquiry and a pleasure to work with on the business side of things.
I have been taking guitar lessons from David Williams for a few months now. I always look forward to my classes with him. He is a professional who is patient and understanding. Besides instructing me on guitar, he is also teaching me how to sing! He teaches me what I need to learn on the guitar in order to advance my knowledge. He is also open to me bringing in songs I want to play. He is a supportive teacher who is sincerely interested in his student's learning. He breaks down complicated musical concepts in a step by step process that enhances student confidence and mastery. I highly recommend David Williams.
Been singing for many years and surprised to still be learning so much. Juan is quite professional and disciplined. He identifies where you need work and starts with fundamentals. You can't fake it with him; he'll know! I recommend going into it with a clear goal and he'll design a program for you.
She's very knowledgable. Singing can be frustrating because both you and your teacher are trying to undo years of bad habits that has developed over the years without you knowing. Some days it feels like everything is totally awesome and you're on your way to becoming an awesome singer, and then some days you can feel like you're banging your head against a brick wall. She is always thinking of ways to help you break through and undo your bad habits so don't give up once you hit a wall! She is very positive and will always push you to improve yourself while making sure you do not injure yourself. She offers deals if you happen to buy sets of lessons vs. just 1.
Liz is the real deal. She was able to pick up on the needs of my daughter and focus on that. She didn't waste time on things already learned or trying to reteach or practice things already known. She makes the lesson count without making it onerous. She is a true professional willing to teach the serious student. She is also kind, motivating (without being condescending) and understanding. I appreciate her flexibility and adaptability in working with my teen daughter. Because of her my daughter is enjoying singing!
Elizabeth mixes a friendly attitude with serious musical instruction. My daughter enjoys her lessons very much and is growing under Elizabeth's care. Wonderful teacher!
I've always loved the sound of classical guitar, and about a year ago a neighbor was selling a used guitar, which I bought. Then I turned to Thumbtack to find myself a teacher. Got several responses, but chose Robert because of his very personalized message where he stated he loves to work with total beginners. Though I have some musical background, I have never played any type of stringed instrument. I've been taking lessons for almost 1 year now and am thrilled with the progress I've made. Robert is an extremely patient and encouraging teacher. Sometimes when he introduces a new technique I have a deer in the headlights look and think that there's no way that is humanly possible. BUT, he's then able to break things down into manageable pieces and before long, what do you know, the impossible is suddenly possible. Whether you're a total beginner, or already have some guitar skills, I highly recommend Robert as a teacher. You won't be disappointed. Wishing you a happy musical journey.
I have only had 4 lessons and I am already starting to hear a beautiful difference in my voice. I finally found my range and I can't wait to expand
Lynn's response connected best with my situation. It's all my fault for not following up. I travel extensively. As soon as I can establish a routine I will contact Lynn for piano lessons.
Steve is really patient and my son is really enjoying his lessons!
Forrest is a great teacher! I have been taking lessons for about two months now, and I am making much more progress than I was on my own. I suggest Forrest highly. He seemed very experienced with beginners with no experience.
I have been taking Spanish lessons from Ms. Price. She is incredibly personable, knowledgeable and helpful. My Spanish skills have soared since I've started with her. Very friendly, she is an excellent teacher. She knows where weak points are and knows how to explain advanced subjects in a way which is very understandable. I am definitely going to continue lessons and I highly recommend Ms. Price to anyone who is seeking to improve their language skills.
I have had guitar lessons with John Lewis for two months now and I have to say without a doubt, he has exceeded my expectations in every way. Not only is he a very talented musician, he also possesses a rare talent for communicating and teaching guitar and musical concepts that are sometimes hard to grasp. He is patient, kind, encouraging, inspirational, and very creative in his teaching style. He knows how to judge exactly how much information I can handle at one time and I never leave feeling overwhelmed. He always makes the lessons interesting, challenging, and FUN! I am so grateful to have found this wonderful teacher and I highly recommend him to anyone from beginner to advanced. He truly is the Best of the Best!!!
The right teacher is a student's dream. After fits and starts with many teachers, I connected with Shirley six years ago. She understood my struggles and filled in the gaps of my lack of musical training. Shirley inspired confidence and gave me the courage to believe in my musical self. she patiently undid all the doings of inept teachers. She methodically taught me how to create beautiful sounds with a flexible wrist, swishing thumb, and coming under a note so that it does not poke out. And all without pressure or put downs. I was able to relax into the music at my own pace. After she moved, we continued on Skype. While I like face to face lessons better, I was relieved that I did not have to lose my teacher. My greatest thrill was when I played Fur Elise and realized the notes had become music. Shirley helped me realize my dream.
I studied the flute as a music major in college and returned to the piano later in life for my enjoyment. I have had many excellent music teachers throughout the years, and Martin ranks with the very best. He always starts by telling me what he appreciates about my playing in the lessons. He then goes on to make suggestions about how I can play as musically as possible. Lessons with Martin are always lively and interesting. He never assigns any of those horrible technical exercises that have been written for the piano. Instead he helps me develop my technique by suggesting fascinating and beautiful pieces to work on. I always leave my lessons musically inspired, and this carries through into my practicing between lessons. He has helped me enjoy playing the piano more and more. Martin is extremely intelligent, yet humble. He has a terrific sense of humor. And of course, his piano playing is beautiful. I cannot recommend Martin highly enough!
I began receiving lessons from Miss Kathleen when I was in the 4th grade. She has been my private tutor for the past 8 years, and we only recently stopped having lessons due to her move. She has played a very big role in becoming the musician I am today. With her help and instruction, I participate in my school's highest orchestra, in the Capitol Symphonic Youth Orchestra, and in events such as District Orchestra. She has always inspired and encouraged me to pursue my music related aspirations and, because of that, I plan on studying music in college and pursue it as a career. I can't imagine what I would have done with out her. Over the years of lessons, she has become more than just a teacher. She is my close friend who I continue to go to for advice.
