Introduction: FAME offers a unique way to teach piano offering the world-renowned Yamaha Music Education System. There are four curriculums based on the student's age and musical background. Students come once a week for an hour group lesson, or a 30 minute private lesson. Students will learn technique, theory, harmony, composition, solfege singing, and reading. We also offer art lessons taught by Trudi Edwards with 30+ years of experience, including 15+ years at FAME. I love introducing people to the joy of music, and watching them learn how to play. We believe that everyone has music within them. Thank you for letting us help bring it out!

Both of my children go to Fame Yamaha Music Center. It is really a school of music and I can't say enough how happy we are. My 5 year old just started and he is so excited to go to class. My 8 years old son started when he was 5 and he is still enjoying learning to play piano at the school. Ms. Gloria has a gift to teach children and a natural gift to teach piano and music . She has so much experience and she is also very kind and caring to the child and parent. The Yamaha course is wonderful because it has beautiful and fun music for the children and develops as they grow in age and in their skills of learning and playing. They learn, not only playing the piano but also rhythm, sing notes, and skills on how to sing. Ms. Gloria is an amazing teacher and we are so lucky to have found a music school that is professional and child friendly, supporting the children to blossom and to develop a love for music. My son started FAME when he was 5 years old. Ms. Gloria has a fun, unique way of teaching students in a group environment. She made it fun and inspiring â image that, learning music and having fun! Ms. Gloria has such an easy way to explain things to the group. She encourages student creativity by letting them improvise and create their own little pieces. She teaches more than just piano â singing, rhythm, and theory as they get older. Plus she talks about other artists pieces, both classical and modern (The Beatles, for example) and the patterns in their pieces. Gloria has made a lasting impression on my son so much that his major is Bachelor of Music (BM) at Sacramento State University. Even the music professor at Sacramento stated that my son has such a deep feeling for the music that you can see and feel when watching him play the piano. I truly believe that Ms. Gloria had a big part in that! I highly recommend her and her staff! Her center also offers are and guitar classes.

My son Daniel took electronic keyboard lessons from Gloria Leiter of FAME for close to eleven years and I have to say that it was one of the best learning experiences heâs ever had. Gloria was a gentle, fun and inspirational instructor so Daniel ALWAYS enjoyed the lessons which covered a variety of music styles such as jazz, Broadway, classical as well as improvisation. Gloria always taught the students with patience and respect and rewarded them with simple parties of pizza and refreshments when they achieved important goals. The wonderful concerts were the result of her successful program. My son, now 23 has recently been awarded âStudent of the Year in Electronic Artsâ at his university and we both attribute his ability in keyboard performance to Gloria and the FAME music program. My daughter is been going to Fame for the last 4 years and her brother followed her path, is also a student since last 2 years. Both love playing piano and like to go there for lessons. For me that speaks volume about the teachers there: Ms. Gloria and equally nice Ms. Barbra. Both kids are in 2 different programs and these lessons at FAME are helping their musically skills with great teaching methods which the teachers use. For both the kids the experience is a fun learning one! I have been recommending friends and they have been happy about this place!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Anyone who is interested is welcome to visit us and try a complementary sample lesson. Students pay monthly tuition for their lessons. The price in the Thumbtack quote is for one lesson, assuming four lessons per month. There is a yearly registration fee. Materials are purchased generally twice a year.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We will evaluate the student's age and musical background, and then find a time that works both for FAME and the student. This can be done in-person or over the phone.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Bachelors of music in classical piano performance from UCLA. Level 5 Certification Yamaha International Grade Exam. 40+ years teaching Yamaha National Teaching Consultant for the Yamaha Corporation's Music Education Division. Developed curriculum for the Keyboard Encounters piano course for adults.
