- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
We generally perform biweekly (once every two week) and monthly (once every 4 week) cleanings. Biweekly recurring and monthly recurring cleanings are always a flat rate, unless additional work needs to be added (such as window cleaning). The initial cleaning is sometimes higher in cost, depending on the current condition of the home. Each home is unique, and one 2000 sq. ft. house may differ substantially in terms of how long it takes to clean vs. another 2000 sq. ft. house. Therefore, please call or email so we can provide a quote for your specific home.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
When a new client calls or emails us, typically they want to know what our pricing is before scheduling anything. I will ask the client some basic information about their home, and I'll be able to give them an approximate (but not exact) quote via phone or email. At that time, I can also answer any other questions they may have regarding our service, and I will provide information about what exactly our cleaning includes. After I have provided a rough quote and answered their questions, I will ask if they are either interested in an in-home estimate (which is free, and where they can receive exact quotes) or if they are comfortable with approximate quotes by phone. If our client is ok with some uncertainty in the pricing, then we can simply book their first cleaning via phone or email. If they are booking site unseen via phone or email however, the client does need to understand that the price may vary significantly from the phone quote, as each situation and home is unique. Phone quotes are always given based on "typical" situations, according to the home information the client provided. Extreme circumstances may warrant either a higher or lower quote than was provided via email or phone. For this reason, in-home estimates are generally the best way to go as we can provide exact pricing to our client so they know exactly the cost will be.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I received a BA degree from the University of California, Berkeley in 2002. The degree I obtained is not related to home cleaning, however the skills I gained in college - including self discipline and working well with others, have served me well in being able to operate ElimiDirt. Most of my knowledge regarding home cleaning and running a business comes from extensive reading on both subjects, and then of course putting that knowledge into practical application since we opened for business in 2009.
