On the good end, Mr. Russo contacted me with great ideas and seemed excited to be involved, especially at the last minute. He also arrived with plenty of equipment, since the sound equipment on site was terrible. However, his performance was less than professional. He arrived late, and then took a long time to get set up, occasionally blaring the amp. He didn't really know how to cary the crowd, and seemed to stumble upon the lyrics to some songs. He did a couple of old classics, and there is was clear he had talent, but the rest of it was pretty awful (I had requested talent for an Italian-themed event). Luckily, I also hired a soprano who was fabulous, and she carried the musical entertainment. I wish I had known that he really wasn't prepared to do what he promised; I would have just had our soprano for the night and carried the rest of the evening with a Pandora play list.
