I originally had Benjamin come out to quote me on gardening, but he also gave my a quote on expanding the cement on my driveway and putting RV parking in the backyard. He was able to do the job within the same week and at a reasonable price. Not only does the cement work look great, but the lawn is looking greener than ever. I appreciate the quick service and hard work. I would defiantly recommend to others.

Wow! I can’t say enough wonderful things about the remarkable service and professionalism Joe exhibited when taking care of a project we posted. He showed up timely, he was responsive to our thoughts, he was knowledgeable about how we needed to go about our project and showed up with the supplies and equipment necessary for our project. We can’t wait to use him again and are already planning for the next gardening/landscaping projects with Joe and his expertise and work ethic in mind!!

My experience with Gil's Garden was very positive because I always felt that I can have a specific request on my garden and it was taking care off in a timely manner. For example, I would send them a text to come over on a specific day because I have people visiting and I need it my patio to look as it best and they manage to make that happen for me. I knew that if it was possible they would o it. Never let me down. Great value as well.

Angel and his team have been nothing but wonder the 2 months we've had them so far. They keep our yard in great shape, which is perfect since our young daughter loves to play outside. I highly recommend their services and will continue to employ them for all of our lawn and gardening needs!

I hired John about a month ago and my lawn and garden are looking great!!! He is professional and caters to your gardening needs with no problems. Communication is a must when I hire someone and he's great on letting you know what's going on with your lawn and what his plans are. He treats your lawn as if it were his own.

Daniel came and did some work on my yard. I needed some seed planted on the side of my home and the front and back mowed. Daniel took the time to check the sprinkler system, and noticed 2 sprinklers needed to be replaced. He went ahead and replaced them for me. I also had 2 bushes and a few rose bushes i was going to clean up and trim myself. Daniel, knowing his job (and knowing it very well), noticed what needed to be done and did it on his own. As much as i love to be out in my yard, doing my gardening, Daniel did such a great job, that I asked of he could come twice a month to do whatever i may have missed or didnt have time to do. With 8 grandkids and my regular housework, i now have a little extra time for my other hobbies. I was so pleased with his work that I referred him to 3 other friends, who were also pleased with Daniel's work. With times being the way they are, I dont mind having Daniel do what I know I can do myself. Simply because of the extra time it now gives me to do other things. So if you are looking for someone who knows his job well, I would strongly suggest you give him a call too. Thank you Daniel. ☺

I have been a home owner for 15 years , and I have always had trouble finding a full services Gardener who always does what you hire them to do. I have rose bushes and shrubs that I need to be beautifully maintained in addition to Lawn-moving. Mark's Gardening Service does all that beautifully and professionally. I am very impressed with them and will refer them to anyone looking for a good Gardening and Landscaping Company.

hired Nils to do some clean up in our front and back yard and he did a beautiful job. So great, in fact, that we hired him to come and do weekly maintenance for us. He is friendly, he promptly replies to my questions, and has very reasonable rates. We would definitely recommend his services . Thank You Nils

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much does it cost to have landscaping done?

Professional landscaping can help reinvent your outdoor space, boost your curb appeal and get a major return on investment with. Landscaping can encompass anything from adding new plants, trees and shrubs, to leveling the ground and laying sod for a lawn, to building in hardscaping such as sidewalks, water features or retaining walls. The national average landscaping price is $10,160. Landscaping prices can be far lower (with hourly rates ranging from $50 to $150) if you’re only seeking professional help with softscaping or seeking consultation on landscape design. Softscaping means adding or changing horticultural elements, such as planting a garden or adding a hedge. Hardscaping is where costs can really start to rise. Hardscaping requires labor and heavy equipment to excavate the earth; you may need to pour concrete, or you may need a pro who can transport and place gravel and other inorganic elements. Your total landscaping cost will vary based on the amount of work you want done, how much labor is required, and the cost of the materials you are using. A good rule of thumb for a major landscaping project, according to the American Society of Landscape Architects, is to budget 5 percent to 10 percent of the value of your home.

How much does it cost to landscape your front yard?

Prices for landscaping your front yard can range from a few hundred dollars to tens of thousands of dollars, depending on the scale of your front yard project. Your landscaping price will reflect how much change you implement, how much labor is required, and the cost of materials.

Landscaping is typically made up of softscaping and hardscaping. Softscaping refers to selecting trees, bushes, flowers and plants to achieve a desired aesthetic and to meet goals such as having a drought-tolerant yard. Hardscaping refers to moving earth, installing structures, and putting in decorative stonework, sidewalks or lighting. For softscaping, you may want to hire a landscape designer to consult on your plants and layout, and then do the digging and planting yourself or hire a gardner to handle the heavy lifting. A landscape designer’s hourly rate may range from $50 to $150 or more. If you want a turnkey approach, meaning someone who works with you to create the vision and then executes all the work, landscaping pricing will typically come down to a cost per square foot rather than an hourly rate. It’s a solid investment: Great landscaping can add up to 28 percent value to your home.
