FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
All the time. The internet is filled with fantastic education sources for photographers, so there's no excuse not to be reading up on techniques, business practices, etc. I am partial to photographer magazines and I buy them constantly. However, nothing is learned till it is practiced so my camera is glued to my hand.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
With the purchase of my first DSLR camera i also delved heavily into editing. And I absolutely loved the two combined- it became about how to shoot and edit together and I took the next step and shot free for the first year and built a portfolio.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
I recently had a return client that I had shot last year for free (donated my services to a military family at Christmas). This year they booked me again and paid my going rate (I do offer a military discount on sessions, by the way). We just took their photos in the same location as last year, and they loved them!
