FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelor's degree in Music, having taken all the required classes for Music Education. I have years of training through private lessons. I also have experience performing in a variety of ensembles, including a piano/viola duo, the Sacramento Youth Symphony, a university orchestra, as well as performing a viola solo with a choir at Carnegie Hall, just to name a few. I also have performance experience and training in different genres of music, including Celtic and fiddle. I also have experience in improvisation.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I began playing the violin when I was nine, after falling in love with the sound of stringed instruments. In that same year, I realized a desire to teach. Over the years, I discovered that I wanted to share the joy music had given me with others by teaching them, ensuring that future generations would be enriched by quality music.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
I have worked with children of various ages and abilities, including special needs children. Some are beginners and some have some years of experience. I've also worked with adults. Some students have interests in other styles (fiddling, folk, celtic or popular) and I work with them according to their musical interests.
