- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?I have an hourly billing rate from $250 to $350 an hour depending on the type of services involved but I also offer fixed fee arrangements for certain transactional work. I offer a free phone consultation. I also donate a small percentage of my fees at the end of each year to the Humane Society to help protect animals from abuse and neglect.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?I will first have a free phone consultation to talk with the client and see if I am able to help them out. If I am, I will quote the client an hourly rate or a fixed fee amount, which is case specific and I send the client a draft retainer agreement, which lays out, in detail, my and the client's obligations and all other relevant details of the scope of my engagement. Once I receive the signed retainer agreement and payment for the retainer which is based on a budget or if a fixed fee arrangement, I start work right away.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I received my L.L.M. from Northwestern School of Law of Lewis & Clark College (2001), his J.D. from Chapman University School of Law (1999), and my B.A. in criminal justice from California State University of San Bernardino (1996). During law school, I served as senior articles editor for the Chapman Law Review.
