John is calm, confident and professional. He is amazing! Dog training is as much about training the owners as it is training the dog. He explains how dogs think and how we communicate with them. Best money I've spent in a while. I'd highly recommend this trainer!
Good communication. Our aggressive stray dog we took in had no hope, until we found Kym...1st day he was sitting on command, walking on the lead with the proper equipment. She appeared very knowledgeable and was caring & proved to be a success on the first time in our training for our new dog Balto. I highly recommend her.
I am currently working on service dog training with Denise. She is AMAZING!! My SD I'm training is also the first dog I've ever owned. That being said, Denise is really patient with me as I learn how to be a good dog owner as well as train my dog. She is very go with the flow with the training, as far as if I have anything come up in between classes, we address the problem and work through it right away. I'm so happy she's a part of our lives! Best most professional service I've recieved.
I own a year and a half year old, 70 lb Stafforshire terrier. I found Daniel's training business online and he was very quick to respond. I was having anxiety issues with Rocky. He was also not around a lot of other dogs so he was not taught proper socializing, thus causing him anxiety and insecurities. Daniel was able to provide the assurance that Rocky would respond well to his method of training. We have been working together only a few months on a weekly to bi weekly basis and Rocky has super manners. He is meeting dogs with respect and confidence. He is now progressing his obedience and starting Psyciatric Service dog training. I'm very happy with Daniel's service.
Mark is an exceptional dog trainer. After only one hour of working with our 1 year old Pit Bull Mix, Winston was a different dog. Prior to working with Mark, Winston was not able to walk on a leash, was exhibiting fear aggression and anxiety, and was very insecure. Although, I did not recognize these as Winston's personality traits, I just thought he was exhibiting typical stubborn puppy behavior. Mark helped us understand the personality and psychology of our dog and our role of providing structure and consistency to help him become a well-balanced dog. Mark was able to gain Winstonâs trust within the first visit and has made tremendous strides with him. I would highly recommend Markâs dog training services.
Steve is an incredible, elite master trainer. He holds the key to unlocking all of your dogs' best attributes. He has done wonders for my dogs, and I have witnessed him doing even more for others. There's nothing that this man can't fix about your dog. But, you must be willing to put in the time and do what it takes to maintain. I have two mixed breeds (brother and sister) that have severe separation anxiety, when they weren't near each other. They were completely co dependent on each other, fearful and extremely sensitive to everything around them. They would whine and bark when separated. Steve had them for less than two weeks, and now they have no problem, at all being separated. He taught me how to build their confidence, and help them succeed. Which has made training them in obedience much easier. They now have the will to work, and the desire to learn more. As do I. He has inspired me so much that it has now become my passion, and I am now his apprentice. What I love most about the way that he trains, is that he is very gentle and patient with the dogs. He is by far more concerned with the dogs' well-being than anything else. He can be pretty tough on the owners, but once you come to realize why, you really can't be mad at him. The issues that your dog has, are typically there because of you. Your dog is a mirror of yourself. Once you've accepted that, you can then both change together, building the bond between you and your dog even stronger. But, you must be part of the change in order for it to work. Wendy is my senior master trainer, and I have learned so much already from both of them. They have taught me beginner and advanced obedience, behavior work, tracking, scent detection, how to show in AKC competitions, how to train movie dogs, and much more. Through the skills that I have acquired from them, I am now teaching my own classes and training dogs daily, using the same incredible methods that these amazing dog trainers have taught me. I highly recommend Steve and Wendy, and all of their trainers to anyone who truly cares for their dog.
We are half way through our six week training program and our dog is thriving in her commands being learned. They make it fun for both me and my puppy!

Worked with my little Chihuahua Jax & after one training session I saw he was better already and getting rid of all those bad habits!
We are so grateful for finding Dogwood K9 Training Experience and working with Ron. Our rescue dog, Jackson, was a stray with no prior training and some behavioral issues that we couldn’t address on our own. Jackson had human aggression towards males, did not listen to commands, jumped on furniture, nipping, chasing our cats, incessant barking, anxiety, the list goes on. By working with Ron we have learned how to address all of these issues through behavior modification training. The best part of working with Ron is that he makes it fun for the dog by using games as a primary means of training. Jackson loves going to Ron’s classes and surprisingly isn’t aggressive towards him in any way, probably due to Ron’s sweet and caring nature towards dogs that Jackson can sense. Ron’s training method starts with the basics and then we build upon the foundation using baby steps so that the dog progressively works up the full commands, while truly understanding them. Our dog’s behavior has done a 180 since we started training and he shows respect for us now. This is after a different trainer told us we should probably take our dog to the shelter because he is going to be too hard train (a lost cause, as they say). Ron’s ultra-positive attitude towards Jackson helped us see that although he is not a perfect dog, he is the perfect dog for us. Ron is a truly exceptional dog trainer. Don’t expect magic; it takes hard work to counter-condition a dog with bad habits like Jackson, but Ron’s expertise will equip you with all of the tools that you need to work with your dog. What I like about the classes is that Ron is training ME to work with my dog so that I can continue to use his tactics long after our classes end. Through his guidance I am creating a long-lasting bond with my dog based on respect, but mostly based on FUN! We love Dogwood!
Shireen is patient, kind and really knows her stuff. She not only considers the dog's needs and perspective, but the owner's too. One-on-one training with Shireen taught us more in one session than a full six week group course. She not only educates, she truly cares.
I first met Wendy through the City of Laguna Niguel dog training classes and she has been in our lives ever since. Her commanding personality and love for all dogs makes her the perfect dog trainer. Not to mention she picks up and delivers our dog when we need to go out of town! Penny is always excited about her time with Wendy and the other dogs and returns better behaved after a weekend with Wendy!!!
Bailey and I have been to many different training classes since I adopted here nearly 2 years ago. Off Leash K9 Training was the training the "stuck." I am now confident that every time I give a command Bailey will respond quickly. The crew at OLK9 also helped us work through some leash aggression. Bailey is a happier and more confident dog, and I'm a happier and more confident owner because of our time with Off Leash K9 Training.
I had used a trainer with limited success and was frustrated by the experience. I was referred to Bark to Basics by a colleague who experienced great results by working with Melissa at Bark to Basics. We had the same great outcome. She worked with us to help us better understand our dogs responses to us. We tried Bark to Basics rewards based approach and it worked. We learned so much about dog behavior and responses from Melissa. We as pet parents, required more training than our dog! Melissa also is a pet sitter which helped reinforce our training while we were away.
Dixie's training classes, technique and evolving processes focused on individual needs - it was just what I needed with my dogs! The fact that we can "visit" her other classes after graduation is an added plus to help keep the training fresh in my mind as well as my dogs! This is a great investment for both the owner-handler and the dog!
I needed help with my 8 year old Goldien Retriever becaused he nipped someone at the apartment complex where I live and was told I could no longer keep my companion dog. I immediately signed up with Dog Services Unlimited (found on line) to see if they could help. They offered a private training one hour weekly at the apartment complex so he could be specifically trained at his home and the apartment grounds. Patty signed me up immediately and Khara came right away to evaluate the situation and start training. It only took 3 sessions to learn so much especially how to anticipate a potential situation and handle it immediately. My dog responded well and actually seemed relieved that he no longer had to be constantly on guard because I was in charge. Khara addressed every issue possible and her style of training reinforced my learning. Ultimately, my dog was allowed to stay at my apartment. I was so pleased with the training that I am starting a group training with Dog Services Unlimited to help my dog be more social. I know he will do well. What surprised me was how an 8 year old dog, set in his ways, could learn so easily and happily. Thank you Dog Services Unlimited.
Connie has become a part of your family. She is wonderful person inside and out and an amazing trainer. Our little Pom went from wild and undisciplined to a well behaved little pup. Her methods are unmatched. Connie has also helped us potty train him in our new home as well. We are so happy with our training and our doggy is now so well behaved. If you’re looking for a reliable trainer who delivers results and at a great price then you’ve found he right person.
My dogs started training with Kate about a year ago when bf and I enrolled our newly adopted pup in a Petsmart training class. Kate is always upbeat, knowledgeable, and passionate about dog behavior. She's adept at training dogs and owners, as well as newer Petsmart trainers. When she started her own business we decided to continue with private lessons, Country Club, and Reactives Anonymous for both dogs. From underlying behavior issues to nutrition she connects the dots to form a holistic view of dog behavior. I like that she does not follow only one school of dog behavior training. She constantly learns and applies techniques that work well for you and your dog. Without getting too off track from this review, I will say she has changed the way I think about my dogs, even as someone who has raised and worked with animals for much of my life. She is so so insightful, always learning and excited to share her knowledge. Just follow her on Facebook and you'll learn something new!
Amanda was successful in training our dog and she did it in a kind way. She was able to correct some bad habits. She has a very pleasant personality. Amanda, also, has a lot of patience. It is a pleasure to work with her.
Cynde is amazing! Not only does she have the passion and love for what she does, her clients ( furry and human ) but she is highly educated, diverse and so patient. Her #1 priority is a happy healthy home for all her clients. Cynde not "just" a dog trainer, those are a dime a dozen. She is highly educated in her field, continues to seek out and attend classes, seminars, teaches them herself etc to keep up with all of her certifications. Cynde is an animal behaviorist, she is a T-Touch Practitioner ( which is a blessing ) she has a wealth of knowledge about animal nutrition, veterinarian care and so important to us she is not an adverse trainer, she is all about positive reinforcement. No prong collars, choke chains, shock collars ! Cynde goes above and beyond for her clients, I highly recommend her to anyone getting any type of dog with any type of concerns...puppies to seniors she knows exactly what to do. I will say this too, I am pretty sure there was more training for my husband and I than our animals, we were a HUGE part of the problem, once the old people were trained to do better our dogs did better. Thank you Cynde for all you do. Our little crew loves you!!!!!
Franco is the most amazing dog trainer! After much research, I decided to go with Franco over many other training classes. I am so glad I did. He trained my 12 week pug puppy. Franco provided a lot of useful information, education and modeled how to teach my puppy. Franco's classes are extremely reasonable in price...extremely competitive. Franco only uses positive reinforcement, which was very important to me in choosing a trainer. Franco was willing to answer any questions I had related to behaviors, food choices, or hygiene. I will definitely be back to work with Franco.
