FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
During our first session, I do a full intake with each patient. I inquire about their health concerns as well as other physical and emotional complaints they may have. This allows me to make a complete and thorough diagnosis to provide an individualized and focused approach to their treatment. Afterwards, I begin the acupuncture treatment and allow each patient to relax with the needles to ease their body towards healing. The first session usually lasts about an hour but I always allow extra time if needed.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
After college I attended Chinese Medicine University, which includes acupuncture, Chinese herbs, nutrition, tai qi, along with the western sciences such as anatomy, chemistry, organic chemistry, biology, physics and classes related to western medicine specifically. After the four year program, I received my masters degree and then moved to Japan to learn Japanese style acupuncture. I continue to take continuing education, each year to update my skills and knowledge.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I've had a lifelong interest in natural healing and chose Chinese Medicine since it's so thorough and offers deeply researched healing for a wide range of conditions. I like how this medicine focuses on healing and strengthening the individual to ultimately allow the body to heal itself.
