Introduction: My years of experience as an installer is what I believe separates me from most other IKEA kitchen designers and planners because I know every aspect of the process, from the beginning step of planning to the final step of installation. I pride myself on making sure the client is fully satisfied with the planning process, which includes detailed measurements, 3D renderings, very descriptive plans with specific installation notes, and assurance that all the correct parts are ordered. I take the same approach during installation and hope to exceed expectations. Seeing and hearing about a clients finished kitchen. I love being a part of transforming an old kitchen into a new one and hearing how happy my client is with it. The kitchen is one of the main focal points of any house and a very personal space, so I know how important it is to my clients to be extremely satisfied.

Hired on Thumbtack

We were in the midst of a remodel and our contractor had no experience with Ikea kitchens but decided to try and did the job but not to our satisfaction with gaps between the cabinets and he couldn't figure out how to install the trash pullout. I googled Ikea installers in my area and found Kristiaan on "thumbtack" which is a new site to me. I contacted Kristiaan with various questions and proceeded to request references. He was prompt in answering questions and providing information. We asked him to come to the house to assess the situation. Upon meeting Kristiaan, he has a very pleasant disposition and as he analyzed things we were confident in the quality of his professionalism and expertise. Kristiaan expertly proceeded to correct the problems with our installation. He spent 2 1/2 hours to get it just right. Me and my perfectionist husband are beyond satisfied with the result. We wholeheartedly recommend Kristiaan and we are happy to have made this connection.

We were installing a new IKEA kitchen and hired Kristiaan to design it. It was a very complicated project, with walls being knocked down, and all new cabinets. Kristiaan not only designed the perfect kitchen, but was extremely honest, helpful and knowledgeable. I am planning more cabinetry in the dining room and will hire him because he is fantastic.

I had a brand new kitchen to design and install. I contacted Kristiaan per recommendation from a friend. Kristiaan was very professional. He provided the design over a day or two. As I was not sure what cabinets to order, he provided input regarding a couple of options. He sent me the list of cabinets to order from Ikea for both options. Kristiaan was very creative in his design and managed to use every inch of space to create useful storage areas. As he was fully booked and I had a deadline to meet, he volunteered to work during the weekend and completed the installation in one weekend. So it only took 10 days to design and install a brand new kitchen. The kitchen looked fantastic. I have received many compliments regarding the design and installation. Kristiaan is very professional, always on time, and is very nice to work with. I am looking forward to working with him again in Spring on another kitchen.

How did you get started doing this type of work?
In 2001 I started as a helper for the Certified IKEA Contractor in San Diego and because of my previous construction experience, I picked up the installations quickly. I became a lead installer within 3 months. In 2006, I decided to bring my experience as an installer to the design and planning side. I realized that there weren't any designers out there with installation experience. That's where I carved out my niche.
