Introduction: I use many different methods to teach piano. I like to start with the Faber method for reading. The method also has pop books, Disney and many other styles of music. With the method, there is a sight-reading book at each level to help improve reading. Once students are reading, I like to use the Toronto Conservatory music series because it covers music from the Baroque to modern 21st classical piano music including jazz, and new age plus technique, ear training, and sight-reading. Students can do exams with the conservatory here in California. Students that I have had do the exams score honors or first-class honors. There are levels from easy to a professional level. It is a well rounded classical training of students on piano. I have house performance classes every 6-8 weeks and a recital at the end of the year in the church I play the organ at in Lomita. I have a masters in music and I have been teaching for many years. I am in North Redondo. Hope to hear from you soon. Debbie
