If you're an experienced singer looking to hone your skills, check out Griffith's other reviews -- I'm here to vouch for Griffith's ability to teach beginners. In fact, I came to Griffith having never sung a note in my life. Before taking lessons with Griffith, I was convinced that I simply didn't have "the knack." I just flat out couldn't sing. But my job brought me to Los Angeles for a few months, and in a surge of optimism, I signed up for singing lessons. All of Griffith's reviews were from experienced singers, but he assured me that he was down for teaching beginners. And calling myself a beginner was rather generous... Yet, in the brief two months I was in LA, I learned more about singing than I ever thought I could. I'm by no means a professional now, but I could probably perform in front of good friends or family with fairly positive results. And believe me, that's a monumental improvement. During my time with him, Griffith was friendly, professional, fun, and, most importantly, successful. He gave me good feedback during lessons and sent me home with useful exercises every time. Of course, I have literally zero other instructors to compare him to, but I can say with confidence that I would recommend Griffith for anyone looking to find their voice!
He's awesome. Kids totally love him and respond to him
Singing is something I have always wanted to learn how to do but have never known how to go about it. I started working with Richard about 4 months ago and in this short time I have already seen amazing results. I came to him with absolutely no singing experience. I couldn't even match a note in my first few lessons with him. He has been able to get me to begin using my singing voice in such a short amount of time. I would recommend Richard to anyone I know looking to learn how to sing. He is a great teacher and someone who makes learning how to sing fun and exciting!
Mia is an exceptional vocal instructor. I am a beginner singer. It is unbelievable to see how my vocal skills have improved with just a few private singing lessons. She is patient and makes the student feel comfortable. I couldn't be in better hands! From Beginners to Pros I highly recommend Singing Studio LA.
Base is reliable, punctual, and jumps right in when he arrives! He is focused on the student and pushes them (even if shy) with kindness and humor to grow and learn. My daughter is 12 and really enjoying her vocal lessons with him. We think he's great!!
We miss Davie. Great piano and drum teacher. Enthusiastic and fun. Your child will love lessons with Davie.
Dr. Stephanie is great! I've only been taking singing lessons with her for almost 2 months now, and I feel like i've learned so much. I came in with absolutely zero experience in singing and she was very patient with me learning from scratch. I'm naturally a very self conscious person and she made me feel very comfortable immediately. I've already started to see and feel improvement in my voice. She's also just a very awesome person in general, she's super nice and encouraging and makes you excited to come back for the next lesson.
3 lessons already and singing has been much more fun! She is positive, honest, personal, knowledgeable, and a great resource! She's taught me to sing more naturally and how to perform and I'm glad I have the opportunity to learn from her! She certainly has a knack for developing this beautiful art in her clients! Thanks Jan!
Dylan is learning and loving his piano lessons! Wonderful school with great instructors, very organized, and we'll run!
Andrew is great! Professional and was able to work with me while I was away and make my songs sound great. Thanks again!
James is an excellent guitarist. It was a pleasure taking lessons from him at Peaceland Music. I learned a lot, improved my playing, and had a great time!
Howard Richman is not a piano teacher...he is a LIFE CHANGER. I went to him to learn piano...but realized that the lessons I learned studying piano with the MASTER were not merely lessons in music....but lessons that helped me see outside the paradigm in all areas of my life. Often, as adults, we "come back" to our music...to study what we have been "wanting to get back to" for years. I learned that this is often a time of great change and evolution for us personally. Howard, being so intuitive, knows how to tune in to each individual's needs.... and empower them to EMPOWER themselves. He is a BRILLIANT pianist, composer and master teacher. I've watched him perform miracles with young children who struggled with other teachers who simply wanted to teach "by the book." Howard is always able to find your inner talent and abilities, possibly that are even unknown to you...and he can creatively, intuitively and intelligently create a course of action that will leave you amazed! That's why you are reading SO many wonderful comments here about him. If you are lucky enough to get to study with Howard, it will change your life!...and btw, I can now play a mean Beethoven's "Moonlight Sonata"....Thank you for everything you taught me Howard Richman! I've had my first lesson with Paul and I am very excited to continue taking lessons from him. In our first lesson he identified areas for me to focus on and exercises to practice. I am already seeing my singing improve!
I was a voice student at Hollywood Academy of Music for a few years. The instruction I got was worth so much more than what I paid because my teacher went to one of the best contemporary music schools (Musicians Institute) and was a frequent performer. Not only that, but she was fun to be around and naturally a very good teacher. I also took from a few other instructors and the standard was always just as high, even though the instructors had different backgrounds, they were all well-educated and good with people.
I graduated with a degree in theatre and have always wanted to sing. I've toured with my dad and have taken voice lessons with many teachers over the years. Rickie Gole is the teacher I have been looking for my whole life. When I first tried her class all I knew about her was that her students (who I went to school with) were always getting cast and hired. They had beautiful voices and I wanted so badly to sing like them. Since taking lessons with her for about a month now I have discovered something else. I am finding a new voice that is completely mine. I leave her classes more confident, happier, and freer. My biggest obstacle so far is trying not to get emotional because my voice is shocking me. It's how I've always wanted to sing and never believed I could. I completely don't recognize it. Her genuinely warm and encouraging presence makes me unafraid to make mistakes and try new things and because of that I'm singing like I never have in my life. Thank you Rickie.
