I’ve enjoyed working with Fred and have been very happy with the results. I had been taking group tennis lessons, but was making slow and minimal results. The one-on-one time with Fred really made a difference and I’m seeing real progress again. Separate from the instruction itself, Fred is just fun to work with. There have been several sessions when I was so tired and exhausted prior to seeing Fred that I was sure the added hour of tennis training that day would feel like too much. I was pleasantly surprised when I noticed that after working with him for a few minutes my mood instantly perked up and felt a second bout of energy coming my way. I recommend Fred to anyone who’s looking to improve their tennis game and prefers to work with instructors that are flexible, easy to get along with and most important for me…fun to work with.

Great experience with Julio - he comes early to reserve court space for us, works is hard during the lesson, and is flexible on timing for our lessons, which is great for our schedule with a 6 month old to manage around!

I am a 4.0 player and have taken occasional lessons from various pros, but never before did I get as much out of and learn from my lessons as I do from lessons with coach Eli. She does not change my game, but adds and improves it tremendously to the point that I am hitting points I only dreamed of before. She teaches by showing, less talking. For me it is easier to imitate than listen, one hits a ton of balls during one lesson!. I feel my game has improved 100% in only 2-3 months. And I am having so much fun!!!

My sons (10 yrs & 12 yrs) take tennis lessons from Dan and are receiving quality training from him. Dan is very professional and does a great job giving them detailed technical guidance and encouragement. He definitely knows his stuff! He's also been extremely flexible to work with when classes need to be rescheduled. I highly recommend Dan for tennis lessons.

Daniel is an amazing coach. I've been taking lessons from him for two years now -since his debut- and he's on top of his work, gives advice on tournaments, and brings other players in to hit during the lesson. He comes well prepared and knows his stuff. He's a great coach and a great guy.

My daughter just started taking tennis lessons from Don this past week and she is really enjoying it. My daughter says its easy to learn from Don, he's kind, and really great at explaining the technique of the game, as well as implementing what he has taught her. We have already signed up for several additional lessons. Thank you Don!

My 11yo son was taking tennis lessons at a club in Orinda and believed that I was paying way too much. I decided to try out Thumbtack to find a different coach. We found Gary and I loved his style of teaching much better than the old "top $" coach. He recognized my sons weaknesses right away and ran drills and exercises with him that helped a lot. We took the summer off because of soccer and vacations, but I plan to start back up with Gary as soon as my son's schedule dies down. I highly recommend Gary!

    About

I do not work for Thumbtack but for myself. Any questions are answered in my lessons section Craigslist ad: "Great tennis lesson...fun teacher" East Bay San Francisco. I can answer all your questions about tennis and even find you players and fun local tournaments. I teach intermediate and advanced players, beginners can get half hour free if in the East Bay, contact me through my Cragslist ad, it is has more information. I show you how to get to intermediate, then you take the classes more officially; I am looking for enthusiasm from the beginner. I take you through all the parts of tennis, and hit with you directly. We do drills, go over the fundamentals, how to improve, serve, ground strokes, all 14 shots. I teach beginners, the busy business professional who wants to be playing tennis and sports two, three days a week and the every day player who is looking to go to the next level. Once or twice a week, recommended for 6 weeks to get the overall feel and ideas of tennis. 6-9 lessons is complete, then tune-ups as wanted, work outs. I am available mornings, afternoons, early evenings and some weekend, depending on time and day. Lessons are in the Berkeley/East Bay or San Francisco Areas, $30 per hour, $40 for hour and a half, $50 for two. Extra person on court: $10, share rest of cost, learn to do drills together. I am a 4.0-4.5 level player with controlled shots and make it fun and a way to work out. The drills are quite specialized, and improve movement and form. What you learn from me is topspin and slice, some flat, how to put points together, approach shot and what you want to learn. Contact me on my email address. Please include questions and possible days and times.
