Uriel was hired to help dig and level ground for us so that we could install an in-ground trampoline. He is a good kid, and I truly think he will be great one day with a little organization and planning. Unfortunately, he still has a lot to learn. He overestimated his abilities, underestimated his time to complete the work (said 1 day’s work, we ended up paying him for 4!! days and he did not ultimately complete any of the tasks). In addition, he badly damaged the item we asked him to assemble and he stated he would pay to replace but we did not ever receive the funds. At one point, he brought more people onto our property, very late at night, without consulting us first which we were very disturbed by. I had to ask him to leave the property ultimately with the task unfinished. The next day I saw the work and couldn’t believe it. The trampoline was bent and many parts were broken and strewn about the yard. The ground wasn’t leveled as we had discussed, and hadn’t been dug out to the correct measurements. I specifically had asked him not to start the trampoline if he couldn’t finish it because I didn’t want to have to take over half way through a complicated assembly. I wanted it to be built safely for our kids. Despite not being even nearly finished with the first part of the job, he decided to press on and start building the trampoline on the 4th day after I had gone to bed- after dark- in our yard. This must have been when he called for more help? without asking us first. He without a doubt worked hard, and I would like to give him some credit for that. At the end of the day- 4 days that is instead of 1 day- nothing was completed, our trampoline was in disrepair, and our yard was covered in trash (like water bottles, food bags, and trash from opening the contents of the trampoline). I had to dig the missing washers and screws as well as other little parts out of the dirt to return to the box. We ended up having to send the brand new trampoline to the dump because it was so ruined. He was apologetic and had said he would come back for free to finish the job, but after seeing the mess he had left, the fact that he had called unauthorized people to our home after dark, and that he hadn’t even finished the first part of the job- which was to dig out and level the dirt for the trampoline, we asked him not to come back and to reimburse us to replace the trampoline (which he didn’t do). I wore t all day having to dismantle the trampoline (which was incredibly difficult because it was warped and had been assembled only partially and very incorrectly with many forced parts needing to be unjammed) as well as to hire someone else to help me literally undo the digging and refill the ledge which had become a death trap since it was incorrectly measured and now without a trampoline. To be fair- we originally found him for an indoor tiling job that we cancelled. He circled back months later just as we were looking for someone to help with this new project and he said he would be up for the job. Maybe this just isn’t his real area of expertise and he thought it would be quick and easy. If you plan to hire Uriel, make a very clear plan together, and maybe try to think through all the tools necessary and any potential workarounds that might come up for issues. He is apprentice level and needs guidance/supervision. He has an ambitious attitude, which will be awesome one day when he has the skills to match.

He stated 50 per hour and it should take him no more than an 1 hour. He had to go to Home Depot to get the part to fix the drawer for the kitchen cabinet. He stated the Brentwood store didn’t have the part and he had to drive to Antioch which was farther away and that’s why it took him so long to get back. Thus the 2hours to complete the job. Well I paid him, gave him a tip and paid for the parts. 2 hours 100 parts 13 and 12 tip. I look at the receipt from Home Depot it states he got the parts from the Brentwood store which is no lore that 3 mins from my house.
