Mindy was so great with our son in helping him with his singing. Not having had any voice training, and having to sing a solo in a play, he was very anxious about taking voice lessons. After the first lesson he was very happy and thrilled with Mindy's approach to the voice training. She was patience, very insightful and gave him some great techniques to use to stay within his range and meet some notes that he had to hit. She even gave him pointers on how to combat stage fright. Our 14 year old son gives her 5 stars too and that's saying a lot. We would highly recommend Mindy for voice training!

I've been taking guitar and singing lessons with David for a few months, and I've got to say I've had a really great time learning from him! David is an incredibly friendly and knowledgeable teacher who clearly cares about his students and their goals, and better still has played and performed with the artists that I like best. It took me a while to find a teacher who was willing to teach me the music I wanted to play instead of starting with their core competence, so it was really refreshing that within a month or two with plenty of practice I was able to learn one of my favorite songs (Three Rounds and a Sound by Blind Pilot, if you're curious), and a little longer to start singing it, which I was really stoked about. He has been great about breaking things down when the piece we're working on is too challenging. David has also pushed me to pursue my goal of creating music, helping along the way to create melodies and lyrics. I have to say, it takes a great teacher to get me to sing and to share lyrics with them (do you know how embarrassing that can be?). I could go on, but suffice it to say, David is a great teacher, and I'm really glad I started taking lessons with him.

Been singing for many years and surprised to still be learning so much. Juan is quite professional and disciplined. He identifies where you need work and starts with fundamentals. You can't fake it with him; he'll know! I recommend going into it with a clear goal and he'll design a program for you.

Ann is a knowledgeable, patient, and talented teacher! I've completed 7 sessions so far and they have all been so enjoyable because of her teaching style -- encouraging and lighthearted. I have no previous training and didn't know what to expect from voice lessons, but it was easy to follow Ann's guidance. From learning to breathe correctly to singing scales and parts of favorite songs, we've already been through a lot in a short time frame. I look forward to continuing my studies with her.

Welcoming, funny, patient and professional. Ken's style of teaching is exactly what I was looking for. Being a shy person I was hesitant to start vocal lessons. I just had my second lesson and I can't wait until next week. Great teacher!

The best way I can describe Liz Hodge is as my “Go-To” for overcoming my biggest vocal challenges, writing compelling business speeches that sound like they should be on TED, and making a difference for my leadership team. As the CEO of Promote Her Business, my business speeches and vocal communication significantly affect my ability to get leads, opt-ins, and to have people want to follow-up with our membership and advanced networking programs. Liz has helped me transform my voice into something I like to hear, am proud of, and have confidence will bring me and PHB more business. In addition, as President of our SV Chapter, I take very seriously who educates my leadership team -- of over 10 people -- on the best practices in speaking and vocalizing today. Liz did such a great job giving a mini group workshop to the women entrepreneurs and male allies on our team. And most impressively, Liz’ teaching is so practical that it lives on … my leaders are still referring to what Liz taught us before they speak in front of the community. I’ve been singing now for just over 20 years, working with different instructors from my high school chorus teachers, to my voice instructor in college to vocal lessons by CD. NONE have been able to get the best out of me like Liz has. Her understanding of how different voices work is the greatest strength every vocal instructor should strive for. In just two sessions with her, I feel and hear a vast improvement in how my voice sounded before her and after her. So to anyone who’s looking for an instructor who works with YOU and not someone who teaches the same lessons to everyone they work with, Liz Patterson is the one you want to work with!

My lessons with Miriam are awesome! She's not just teaching me about singing or how to use my voice but also everything around it like posture and emotions. She helps and encourages me to push my limit, expanding my vocal range. I'm really enjoying my lesson with her and always looking forward to our next session!

My daughter recently started doing piano lessons with Lynn and she just loves it. She loves Lynn and thinks she is so nice. I sat in on her first session and I learned so much just from watching in the background. Lynn is an outstanding piano teacher and I recommend her for anyone interested in piano or voice lessons.

Sarah participated in the St. John's choir and also took private vocal lessons with Emily to improve her singing and confidence. We found Emily to be fun, responsible, engaging, and we saw great improvements in Sarah's abilities during her time with Emily. Additionally, I will emphasize that Emily has great skill in working with a variety of personalities, including expert skills in working with special needs kids.

Natalie has been fantastic to work with! Her instruction through exercises, general tips/suggestions, and specific ideas when working on a particular song has all been stellar and on point throughout my work with her. I feel like I have improved dramatically over the course of our lessons, and my band members have made several comments about my improvement as well. She has an uncanny knack for knowing what I am doing with my breath, diaphragm, throat, mouth, etc., and being able to suggest just the right adjustments to make things sound better and more comfortable to sing. Natalie is a wonderful person, too, very encouraging, supportive, and respectful. I highly, highly recommend her!!

Ross was very helpful. He was very encouraging and that is necessary for someone like me who hasn't had lessons in years. Ross pointed out what I was doing right and we worked on that, then we moved on to things I needed to improve. I feel like in our one hour lesson I learned more than I have before. I can't wait for our next session :). I would highly recommend for any singer, no matter what level, to have a lesson with Ross.

I've been taking singing lessons with Cherie for about a year. I've always wanted to perform at open mics and maybe start a band but I knew I had some work to do before feeling confident. So I started singing lessons with Cherie to help prepare me for performance but we also spent a lot of time growing my voice. I realized I had a much bigger range than I'd thought. BTW - I'm also a beginner guitarist and we sometimes have guitar lessons too. She's a great guitarist and singer. So I really feel like she's the best out there for that type of work. If you want to not only work on your voice but learn how to perform and have a fun time in general - I'd book Cherie for lessons. She's a pro :-)

About

I am extremely professional and I focus on teaching, first and before anything, the basic concepts of music theory to ensure the student (whether a child or an adult) has the necessary tools to approach any type of music. I've seen in many music studios that music teachers rely on imitation rather than knowledge, as a result, the student does not acquire the necessary abilities and grows dependent on the teacher.
