Unlike many events, we were dealing with a short window of preparation - a funeral. Albert was great and I had immediate contact with Spencer (who ended up shooting the service due to a personal emergency for Albert). Spencer was amazing. I looked around the church and he was there, in place, before the family walked in. He got footage of the church before our arrival and I saw him quickly change spots in the church to get better footage. We arranged to have the burial on our video and he showed up long before we finally arrived in Richmond at Rolling Hills. We were all impressed at the professionalism and ease of things throughout the service. Spencer immediately made sure the preacher was mic'd for the final words and the family is excited about ordering their copies of the DVDs. I highly recommend DeNoise Studeios. My only regret is that I did not have them for previous family events like my wedding, milestone birthday parties for my mom, grandfather and grandmother, and even the big Christmas eve parties. I will be using DeNoise Studios in the future for videography need.

Lawrence did a fantastic job with our wedding pictures. Would definitely recommend to more people. He is friendly, professional and a talented photographer. Our pictures turned out great and he has captured all the moments of the wedding. Just added one picture to show one of the ceremony captured.

Our experience with Cindy was outstanding, amazing, and overall incredible. Having Cindy as our Wedding Photographer was really the smartest decision we could have made. She is personable, knows exactly what she's doing and somehow managed to capture moments that we didn't even realize were taking place. It was like having a really good friend who just happens to be an amazing photographer. We wanted a photographer who could go with the flow. We wanted somebody who would know what to do and just simply fit in to our program and not be regimented. So he knows exactly what she's doing and will be the perfect choice for any bride or groom. If you're reading this and you haven't hired her yet and I encourage you to look beyond the five stars, stop looking and hire her. I can't give more than 5 Stars but I wish I could. Thank you again Cindy!

Andrea was such a pleasure to work with! We had a very small wedding and she was warm and professional which was great because she fit right in. I was very comfortable working with her and I really appreciate that she anticipated shots of my hand-made decorations that I hadn't even thought to ask for. I would definitely hire her for future events or candid shots of the family.

Eric did a fantastic job taking photos at my son and soon-to-be daughter-in-law's engagement BBQ in July 2017. The photos are beautiful and everyone agreed that Eric did a great job creating a wonderful balance between posed pictures and candid shots. He never was intrusive, but managed to capture all of us looking our best. Thanks to Eric we have a nice photographic record of the fun time we all had together. A great way to kick off the “wedding year” for our family and the bride and groom!

We chose Usman because of his incredible portfolio, and his experience in shooting at City Hall. We knew we were getting someone who knows the best angles and lighting, but we didnt realize we were also getting someone who knew the entire process of where to go, what to do, etc, throughout the marriage process. He was like a wedding planner, helping to make things comfortable and seamless. Not only that, we loved the photos, he really captured our most special moments better than we could have hoped. He is an incredible photographer at a very reasonable price. Highly recommend!

Vinnia gave my teenage niece a makeup lesson. She was responsive and professional in scheduling, confirming and during the lesson itself. She was thorough, practical and gave a wide range of recommendations so my niece could pick-and-choose what would work for her (high-end, drugstore and for a wide variety of daytime and evening looks). She encouraged hands-on learning (she did 1/2 and had my niece do the other 1/2 of her face), picture-taking and note-taking of product recommendations and techniques (she even gave my niece a cute notepad to take notes and let her take it home).

Ben was a wonderful officiant that exceeded our expectations. We live in Wisconsin but are from the Bay Area and booked him about a year in advance of our wedding date. He was extremely courteous, professional, and provided answers to our questions immediately. We could not have asked for a better officiant for our wedding! He gave us a personal binder with our vows and other details and promptly submitted our marriage license. Trust that Ben will be there for all your needs and his services are top notch!

Dr. Taylor was kind, patient and considerate, and is passionate about her work helping others find happiness together. She met with us several times prior to our wedding and helped us create the kind of service we wanted. She gave us a very nice service, and wrote a beautiful homily about my wife and I that was very sincere and moving. She really spoke from the heart and you can see her sincerity and passion for the Lord. I heartily recommend her!

Having Young as our MC/DJ made our wedding that much more perfect. He was very thorough with what we wanted, and he kept in constant contact months before the wedding, and even days leading up to the wedding. He has a great personality, excellent taste in music, and is very detail-oriented. Young helped turn our stressful wedding day into a fun, memorable one. I would highly recommend him, and in fact, my best friend hired him for his upcoming wedding. Thank you for an amazing experience, Young!

Hiring Mauricio was one of the best decisions we made while planning our wedding. He was great to work with, kind, and very professional. He truly captured the spirit of our day and made everything look SO beautiful. The highlight film he put together absolutely blew us away and exceeded our expectations. You have to watch his work to truly understand how outstanding and top notch it is. Look no further because Mauricio is absolutely the best videographer in the Bay Area. You will not be disappointed and you will be able to remember the magic of your wedding day forever with his gorgeous film!

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What is a videographer and what do they do?

A videographer professionally films weddings and other events and edits the footage to create film keepsakes or marketing materials for their clients. Wedding videographers record all the key elements of your wedding day, ceremony and reception, and then edit the hours of film during post-production to make a wedding video, social media highlight reels, and any other film features you choose. Wedding videography captures, in live action, your vows, the cake-cutting, the first dance, reception toasts, the decor, the guests and all the details of your day. Many wedding videographers also interview guests (based on an interview list provided by the couple) and incorporate the recorded responses into the wedding video. Event videography typically costs less than wedding videography, as events are shorter with less detail. The national average cost for event videography is $500-$760, while the national average cost for wedding videography is $990-$1,260. A videographer usually does not need to be licensed, but it is important to confirm they have insurance and good standing in the business community, as well as good client reviews. A great majority of the work happens during post-production. The pros watch and blend together the hours of footage they took (sometimes from multiple cameras) to capture the story of your wedding day or event.

What is a wedding planner?

A wedding planner is a professional service provider whose job it is to organize and execute all the details of a couple’s wedding. A wedding planner can be contracted at any stage in the wedding planning process to help to any degree the couple is willing to pay for. Wedding planning is similar to event planning in that a planning team handles the coordination of multiple wedding elements including catering, venue, guests, entertainment, decor, transportation and more. Anyone who has ever been involved in a wedding can confirm that wedding planning is hard work. Experience brings wisdom when it comes to avoiding or resolving day-of challenges. There is no legal regulatory body that oversees or certifies wedding planning as an industry. Anyone who chooses can call themselves a wedding planner. When looking for a wedding planner, be sure to read reviews, and make smart hiring decisions by asking about licenses and insurance.

How do you choose a wedding videographer?

A wedding videographer will create a lifetime memory for you from edited video footage of your wedding day, ceremony and reception. Choosing a wedding videographer starts with looking online at portfolios of their past work. There’s no need to talk to anyone unless you love what you see. Next, make sure they have good reviews and past client experience; don’t be shy about asking for references if there aren’t any posted online. When you find someone who has a style you love, ask if they are available on your wedding day. If so, it’s time to talk pricing. Be clear about your maximum budget, and ask what kind of packages they offer. Pricing will depend on the number of crew needed for filming, the hours they are required to be onsite, post-production editing, and the length of the final product. Talk with several wedding videographers to get a feel for what prices are like in your region. Nationally, the average cost for wedding videography ranges between $990 and $1,260 per event. Once you agree on a product and have a plan, get everything in a written and signed contract. Clearly state the details of what is expected for your wedding day and from the final product. Be prepared to pay a deposit to reserve their services for the day, then pay the remainder upon receiving the video.

How much does it cost for a photographer for a wedding?

Finding the right wedding photographer can make a big difference for your ceremony. Nationally, the average wedding photographer’s price ranges from $800 to $1,000, but costs can be much higher in areas like Chicago, New York or Los Angeles where some couples spend $2,000 to $5,000 or more for the photographer they want. Factors that can affect your wedding photographer prices include the photographer’s reputation and experience. Heavy hitters can command top rates, especially during wedding-season weekends. Day of the week also affects your cost. You may get a $200 discount on wedding photographer prices if you get married on a Friday in November rather than a Saturday in June. Time onsite is also an important cost factor. Hiring a photographer to snap photos from the moment you wake up until after last call at the reception is going to cost more than five hours of pictures during the day. Multiple photographers, special lighting, and videography will also increase your costs. Ultimately you want to find someone who has a style you love and can provide the number of edited shots you want for a price you can handle. Learn more about hiring a wedding photographer.

What should you ask your wedding videographer before hiring?

Finding the perfect wedding videographer doesn’t have to be stressful. Asking a few key questions upfront will help you find the right fit for your big day. Before talking with wedding videographers, research their work online. Look at their websites, business profiles and social media, and see what their finished wedding videos look like. If the style fits what you’re envisioning, it’s time to reach out. During initial contact, make sure you get along with the person. This is important since they’ll be interacting with you and your guests.

Your first question should be about their availability; there’s no point in going further if they’re booked on your wedding day. Ask to see references if they’re not readily available online. Next, it’s time to talk about money. Ask how they determine rates or what kind of packages they offer. When you settle on a rate and the services you want, make sure to have a written contract that outlines everything, including cost, length of time they film, what post-production will include, and when you can expect to receive the edited project.
