Savings, whether it be your property, your time, or your money, are easy to achieve through basic Connected Technology, often called the "Internet of Things", or simply "Smart Homes". Imagine leaving your house and having the home know you have left, and as a result, the thermostat changes to save energy and money; the lights turn on and off in a pattern that makes it look like you are home, the front door is locked, and the garage door is closed. On top of this, get a notification, while you are gone, if someone comes to your door. Then, see live video of what they are doing and talk with them, as if you were home. If it is someone who should be at your home, maybe an out of town guest who arrived early, you can remotely unlock the door and let them in to your home. Say motion is detected in your home where it shouldn't be, another notification is sent, prompting you to view activity on an inside camera before you take action. Or, a water leak is detected because your washing machine has overflowed. The water to the house is automatically turned off reducing the problem from significant damage to simply a little water to clean up. All this happens without you having to learn any new skills, or do anything different in your daily routine. As well, once items are installed, they can also be operated by voice from your phone or an in home assistant. For example, you can say, "OK Google, turn down the temperature in my house." or "...turn the front porch light on at sunset".
