Read reviews that mention:
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I usually charge an hourly rate, with a one hour minimum for onsite work, and in 15 minute increments. For remote work I charge a 15 minute minimum. For special projects I can quote a package price if it makes sense for me and the client.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First, I need to understand the problem and how the client uses their Mac. In the process we begin to know and understand each other. I find every client has different levels of understanding the language of computers, so I work to ensure that we communicate effectively. Then I’m able to offer advise on the best solution for their issue.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My education was in engineering, but I dropped out half way through to take jobs that involved solving problem using tools, and did that for the next 20 years. Then I bought my first Macintosh and began using that tool to solve problems, and learned to solve the problems that could happen to a Mac. I am primarily self taught in this area, but have been certified by Apple and was for years a member of the Apple Consultants Network, an organization of certified consultants that Apple created.
