I am so glad that I hired Helen as my wedding officiant. She’s friendly, professional and cares about you. We didn’t have rehearsal but everything is under control and smooth. Thank you Helen, thank you for being there for my big day!Oct 9, 2019VerifiedCustom Wedding Ceremonies's reply
Hello Ningyu, I am so happy you were pleased with my services. You were fun to work with and it was a joy to be your officiant. Thank you for taking time to write this review. Warm regards, Helen
Helen was our officiant for our wedding in August. She was a pleasure to work with from beginning to end. Helen was very responsive, easy to reach via email, and always offered great advice whenever we asked for her opinion. When we reached out to a few officiants when first looking, Helen stood out as she was really friendly and approachable, and her pricing was very reasonable. She provided a lot of example vows and ceremonies, and we were able to pick and choose which parts we like, and incorporated personalized vows / sections as well. Helen was very flexible and offered great tips. We highly recommend her!!Nov 7, 2018Verified
Helen was our wedding officiant last weekend in a park in Tiburon. We wanted a very intimate and simple ceremony. She was great since our first meeting, always very helpful. On the day she did a great job, everyone thought she was kind and had great words to say.Sep 24, 2014Verified
My wife Stephanie and I chose Helen as the officiant for our wedding last week and couldn't be happier with her officiating. She exceeded our expectations and as such, genuinely deserves 5 stars! Helen was approachable, energetic, fun, positive and genuine. We could really tell she cared about our wedding ceremony by our conversations with her and how she handled the rehearsal and ceremony. We could tell she invested her time and energy into our wedding. She sent us sample ceremony outlines which enabled us to build our own. She provided good feedback which helped us refine it. On our wedding day, we had a few hiccups. A minor but necessary change in the unity ceremony required some word changing. This Helen got taken care of with ease. We also had a very abnormally hot day, which led to some complications. My mother was almost at the point of passing out as she was directing our wedding helpers. We had to start about 20 minutes late but Helen took care of the bump-in-the-road with ease. She led the ceremony professionally well. It was amazing. Many at the wedding remarked at how good she made the ceremony. And if this wasn't enough, she was very affordable and generous in her pricing. Helen was so great that my wife and I plan to keep in touch with her in the future. I highly recommend Helen for anyone's wedding.Aug 27, 2015Verified
Helen was all kinds of wonderful. She was quick to respond, answered all my questions and really worked with us to A) make it affordable and B) make the process easy for us. She provided templates and ideas for ceremonies, met with us to discuss the ceremony, worked with us to create one that catered to my romanticism and my husbands pragmatism, emailed us a copy, and gave us time to edit/give feedback/change our minds. She never pushed her own agenda, ideals, goals for the day, but really worked with us to create a ceremony that would make us happy. She also made me feel extremely comfortable and I couldnt imagine anyone else officiating our wedding day. In addition, she communicated with our wedding ceremony coordinator of her own accord, researched our venue (Shakespeare Garden at Golden Gate Park) in advance, arrived early, officiated a lovely ceremony, and mailed in the wedding certificate on time. I didnt have to do anything the day of, just enjoy our wedding. I couldn't recommend Helen highly enough. Thank you Helen!Apr 28, 2015Verified
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)? The price is based on whether or not there is a rehearsal and how far I must travel. I also offer special discounts throughout the year. I ask for a non-refundable $25 deposit to hold your date and start creating your perfect ceremony.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer? When a new customer contacts me, first I answer any questions they have by email or text. Then, we get together by phone, Skype or email to see if I'm a good fit for them. I learn about their unique story and what they want (and don't want) in their ceremony. When a couple chooses me, I provide them with several sample ceremonies so they can let me know what they like and then I create a personal ceremony just for them. I include any special requests they may have like a Sand Ceremony, Wine Ceremony, Family Ceremony, etc. I work on the ceremony until they approve it. I love to have a face-to-face meeting with them, if that is possible. If they are coming from a distance, we Skype, text and email; then I meet them at the rehearsal. By the day of the wedding, we have a good sense of knowing each other and I am not a stranger walking onsite like other vendors.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I have a Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy and a Bachelor's degree in Human Services. this training has prepared me to work with all types of personalities and different backgrounds. I am a certified preschool and kindergarten teacher and work with children and families everyday. I love to include children and other family members in the wedding if the couple requests it. I believe my continuous work with diverse people helps me hone my people skills on an on-going basis.
