The massage therapy treatment with Stephen was transformative in every aspect. As a college student, I'm often working non-stop and have struggled with managing the stress that comes with that commitment. One session with Stephen helped to release some of the stress that I had been holding in my body and even catalyzed a release of emotional tension after the fact. Stephen was incredibly accommodating and knowledgeable, often taking the time to walk me various aspects of the process to ensure that I felt comfortable. This massage treatment felt critical to restoring my holistic wellness and I will absolutely be working with Stephen again. He's professional, gentle, and an all around lovely person.

I have only been two times. The first session I was unsure but after the second I can honestly say I give him 5 stars. I am not "better" or have it all figured out but I think the Life coach approach is the way to go for me. Plus, his questions are thought provoking and pertinent to who I am. I am hopeful I will begin to see life thru a new lense.

With Alex you can always expect to challenge yourself. He's positive, conscientious, and enthusiastic about helping you reach your goals. I've been working with Alex for over 2 years now. Having dealt with his own injuries and learning to modify exercises, he is very mindful of good form and preventing injuries with his clients. Alex spends time to help individualize what types of nutrition would work for you because what works for some might not always work for you. He believes in fitness as a way of life and inspires his clients to do the same.

This is a review for Kendahl Richmond, a personal trainer whom I have had the pleasure of working with. After doing research, the top 5 things a person looks for in a personal trainer are: Honesty, Creativity, Balance, Attention to Detail, and Attitude. Coach Richmond inhabits all 5 of these in a manor that is incomparable. Honesty. Honesty is very important to me. If I am choosing to allow someone to tell me what to do and be an active roll in my life, they need to be honest. Without honesty there will not be trust. I need to be able to trust those in my life. I trust Coach. His honestly is refreshing. He is not afraid to not only point out the areas he sees you need work on, but also compliment areas in which you are successful. He’ll tell me straight up, “Your body fat percentage is high and you need to bring it down otherwise you could have other health problems.” He will also bluntly say, “Those pants look good on you Falicia.” If you only receive negative input, you will find yourself feeling down, feeling attacked. He tells you what you need to work on, and compliments your “assets”. He does this in a creative way. Creativity. Not only is Coach Richmond creative in his honesty, but also in his workouts. Most of his workouts are modified, or even created from scratch just for you. He takes your strengths and your weaknesses to create a workout that can best get you to your goal. He develops workouts that push me, but also cater to my injuries. Believe me, I have a lot of them. Balance. Balance is when Coach Richmond pushes me to my limits, yet knows when to pull back. One of his favorite sayings is, “You might hate me during session, but you’ll love me after.” This is true. When he is pushing me to my limits and forcing me to “shut my mouth” because it’s hard for me to breath, I begin to dislike him. I even think, “Shut up, you’re annoying.” Once session is over I feel better about myself, and just better over all. There have been days where I find myself so sore that I can barely move. Today, it hurts to sit up due me beginning to create abs of steel. Attention to detail. Coach Richmond isn’t like some trainers I’ve seen. His eyes aren’t wondering the room. He gives you his attention. From time to time he will desire to catch a glimpse of you for his snap chat, but that is because he is proud of his clients and their hard work and wants to share with the world. He notices everything. He notices even the smallest incorrect forms. Today he caught me resting my elbow on my knee and said, “Take your elbow off your knee.” Very forward and exactly what I need. He tailors his communication and how he addresses the detail he sees to fit each individual. Coach Richmond’s attitude is raw, and real. He is always optimistic. Though he is not always 100 percent due to being human, but he is constantly looking for the positive aspects of every situation. The best part about his attitude is that he is firm when he needs to be and playful when you need it. In conclusion, Coach Richmond is now a part of my life and will continue to be a part of my life. I’ve been his client off and on since November 2016. Though I’ve been up and down on my journey, he has been understanding and willing to work with me with flexibility. He honors my schedule and I honor his, which allows for a mutual respect and success. He gives me what I need as a trainer and I’m positive he will for you too. He will not disappoint.

Karen was a wonderful guide when she was coaching me during a life transition. She was also very intuitive and perceptive when there were subtle tendrils of thoughts I didn't even fully express making their way into our discussions. She was very much there with me, even on the phone. Thank you, Karen!

While researching coaching professionals based out of the Greater Sacramento and East Bay areas, I connected with Dan Chrystal. Honestly, I could not be more pleased. As a fairly successful, but unfulfilled “forty-something” year old, I was originally seeking some career guidance. Within our first meeting however, it became apparent that the work I needed to focus on first was much more personal in nature. Through deep, honest and open discussions as well as guided personal discovery assignments, Dan was able to expediently dig into some core issues that had been subconsciously shaping my life, choices and ultimately my destiny. Within a few sessions, I was able to lay down some decades-long heavy burdens, clear up some limiting beliefs and settle some internal turmoil which previously, no advisor, coach, therapist or friend had been able to understand or help resolve. Dan has a simple, honest, approachable demeanor, which was important to me. At this point in my life, the thought of endless personal discovery over multiple months of verbal rehashing was simply not an option. But I also knew that I needed help and was ready to fully participate in making that process happen. With his holistic mindset and a focus on getting down to business, I highly recommend Dan Chrystal as a personal / professional coach for anyone who is ready to do the personal work to make change happen. I look forward to my continued work with Dan as I move into the next phase of aligning my professional life with my personal values and talents.

I've been Shizumi as a health coach for the past 9 months. She has had wonderful suggestions for all aspects of my life, gently encouraging me to realize more of myself and to become a happier and healthier person. I believe that anyone would benefit from Shizumi’s health coaching because she gives these opportunities to grow in fun and rewarding ways. It is very unusual to find a health professional who takes the time to look at all aspects of their client and then give such positive recommendations.

I previously wrote a review for ASW but I wanted to write one for just Ed. Ed is a remarkable trainer. When I had my consultation with Ed I never in a million years thought that I would be able to accomplish what his plan was for me. I weighed way more than I should have, I didn't have any confidence, I was timid every time I went to the gym, and I had plantar fasciitis. Fast forward 6 months later with Ed as my trainer I am squatting, benching, and deadlifting more than I ever imagined myself doing. My body composition has changed a lot, I feel comfortable going to the gym instead of going straight to cardio I am able go go into the weight room and do what I need to do without feeling timid, I feel better about myself and I no longer have plantar fasciitis! I've had a couple of other trainers in my life and I always felt like my time and money were being wasted it seemed as though they cared more about getting clients in and out it was usually awkward and they were hard to talk to. Ed is easy to talk to, very down to earth, he always answers all my questions, I never feel rushed and Ive never once felt like the training I was getting from him was a waste of time and money. If you are looking for an amazing trainer you can stop looking and start training with Ed I promise you won't regret it.

I first started training with a Jared several months ago when my age and work requiring lots of driving that caused bad sciatic pain. Jared started with a thorough discussion of my current physical concerns and goals for training followed by a series of exercises to assess my physical condition and range of motion etc. over the coming weeks he put me through a series of progressively challenging routines that I would run through on my own between training session with Jared. This resulted in dramatic improvement in my sciatica. I really appreciate Jared’s knowledge of physical training, his individual approach and his positive coaching style. I highly recommend Jared as an exercise trainer to anyone!

Ken Karnack is a true Coach. He holistically advises and motivates on diet, supplements, exercise and goal setting. When I constantly overanalyze and try to find creative short cuts he brings me back to the proven fundamentals that work. Ahhh but there are some tricks when it comes to getting really low bodyfat and preparing for a contest and he knows them well and was able to adapt them to me as an individual. As a result I have trophies on my mantle and got in the best shape of my life. Thank you Ken.

I was filled with anxiety & I was crashing from a bipolar mania when I worked with Sheree. I was very weepy & miserable, I was not doing well at all. There were some things that I didn't listen to her about right away so it slowed my growth but once I did things began to improve & still do. I already judge myself harshly so I didn't need anymore of that. Sheree is very accepting & understanding but she is also real & will tell you where you need improvement. Because of my ways of coping I would let my kids do whatever they want. Sheree also opened my eyes to things that are important to change for my kids and now their lives are improving as well.

D.Brown helped me go from weighing 319lbs to now weighing 256lbs with a vegan lifestyle, daily exercise and lots of rest. He would tell me to transform your body you need to transform your mind. Over 10 month ago I had high blood pressure, high cholesterol, sleep apnea, and a sciatic nerve problem. With his experience on wellness and fitness I was able to over come all of those issues. He has motivated and educated me in understanding what to eat, how to rest and the best ways to take care of your body. Anyone that's trying to change their lives I would highly recommend D. Brown to help you get on the right track.

About

As a Certified Professional Life and Leadership Coach I assist my clients in improving their levels and styles of communication and increasing the effectiveness of their relationships (both professional and personal). My interest lies in enhancing the success of all I work with and assisting them as they move forward towards their desired successes at work and/or home. I focus on coaching management, sales professionals and individuals around the skill sets involved with their business and life rather than just supplying them with motivation. Motivation wears off. Skill sets last. The more recent focus of my management, team and life coaching workshops has been about creating positive and highly successful communication which leads to similar relationships, with colleagues, staff, as well as customers. I am more interested in coaching people to find the skills involved with achieving their success rather than teaching them to dream. Everybody wants more, but it's something entirely different to become more. I am interested in enhancing the success of all I work with and assisting them as they move forward towards their desired successes.

About

I provide positive motivation. A healthy lifestyle is the key to living. Being in control of your life and having realistic expectations about your day-to-day challenges are the keys to stress management, which is perhaps the most important ingredient to living a happy, healthy and rewarding life. Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

    What is a health coach?

A health coach is a service provider you can hire to help you realize your wellness goals. You can hire a health and wellness coach to guide you through life changes, keep you focused on weight loss or fitness goals, help boost your mental health, and more. Many health coaches work with their clients for set periods of time as the client moves toward a measurable goal. Wellness coaches come from varying backgrounds, and may have different areas of focus depending on their education and training. Research potential coaches by reading their reviews, researching their academic and personal backgrounds, and learning about any certifications they have earned from coaching institutes. Often, health and wellness coaches sell coaching packages ranging from three to six months or longer, depending on the client’s needs. The average national cost for an individual health coach session ranges from $60 to $90, although prices may range as low as $30 or up to $130 or more, depending on your location and the coach.

    What is a life coach?

A professional, accredited life coach works with people to help them make important changes in their life, either growing in their profession or changing gears in their personal lives. They help clients turn their dreams or wishes into realistic, attainable goals. They guide people through the process of making life changes by helping them evaluate the steps they must take to reach a particular goal, then help them decide how — and whether — to take those steps in the most efficient, effective and rewarding way possible. A life coach acts as a motivator, strategist and accountability partner. Unlike a therapist, a life coach doesn’t help solve problems from your past — they’re focused on helping you move forward with new ways of acting and thinking that will help you reach your goals. Some people specialize in particular types of life coaching, including life balancing coaches, small business coaches, executive coaches and personal finance coaches. Some meet clients in person, while others hold consultations over the phone.

Regardless of which type of life coach you’re interested in, make sure the person holds an International Coach Federation (ICF) credential. There are three tiers of credentials: Associate, Professional and Master, which require coaching experience ranging from 100 hours to 2,500 hours.

How much does a life coach cost?

A life coach helps clients set and reach professional and personal goals, develop positive habits, and deal with stress. Some people meet with a life coach once or twice, while others form an ongoing professional relationship, meeting regularly in person or on the phone. The average national cost to meet with a life coach ranges from $80 to $130 an hour. Some coaches offer per-session pricing, especially for one-time meetings; expect to pay an average of $100-$125. People who want to work with a coach over a period of time to explore life transitions, career growth or lifestyle changes may be able to get discounted pricing in a package. For example, three 60-minute sessions cost an average of $300, four 60-minute sessions cost an average of $350, and four 60- to 90-minute sessions plus unlimited contact between sessions cost an average of $400. Some specific types of coaching, such as relationship or marriage coaching, cost more than standard life coaching. For instance, three 60-minute relationship coaching sessions cost an average of $500, four 60-minute sessions cost an average of $550, and six 60- to 90-minute sessions cost an average of $650 when purchased as a package. Training and experience can also affect the cost of hiring a life coach. An Associate Certified Coach, who holds a certification that requires only 60 hours of training and 100 hours of coaching experience, will charge less than a Master Certified Coach, who typically has at least 200 hours of training and 2,500 hours of coaching experience.

What is a holistic wellness coach?

When you want to reach new heights with your health and wellness, consider hiring a holistic wellness coach. Much like a health coach, a holistic wellness coach is focused on your well-being and meets with you in one-on-one sessions to help you identify and reach your targeted goals. A holistic wellness coach will typically have you take all components of your life into account when working to achieve your goals. If your goal is to lose weight, a holistic wellness coach will not only offer recommendations for your diet and exercise, but also discuss your emotional health, your work/life balance, your spiritual side, and each area of your life that affects your ability to follow a nutrition and fitness plan.

Although they are highly motivational and often can help clients achieve great results, holistic wellness coaches are not professional health care providers or registered dietitians. Different institutes and training centers provide certifications for holistic wellness coaching, so be sure to research your coach and read their reviews to understand more about their techniques and training.

    Why get a life coach?

People of all ages and in all careers have called in a life coach. Life coaches are accredited professionals who can help you figure out the tangible changes you can make in your life to reach your goals; they can even help you turn your dreams into goals, if you’re not sure where to go next. A life coach can also help people find their purpose in life. Life coaching clients often have an idea of what they want to do, such as help people or work with animals, but don’t know how to turn that passion into a career. A life coach can help clients work through the options to find a clear path with concrete steps that lead to an attainable goal. A life coach can also help clients make a major career change, such as starting a new business. Life coaches can help clients develop better habits that will make them more successful, acting as an accountability partner. Life coaches also often guide their clients through major transitions in life, such as a career change or other stressful situations that are made easier with guidance from a neutral third party.

Hire skilled professionals for absolutely everything.
