Outdoor Landscaping and Design
I hired Max because he seemed enthusiastic and eager. The job went along fairly smoothly until I paid him in full. There were problems and I got lots of delays and lots of excuses for the delays. I felt like I had to chase after him to get these issues addressed. He would say he would do something on a certain day and then not show, not call, not reschedule. In my opinion, this is not good customer service and is not the way to run a business successfully. Update: Max never did complete the job to satisfaction. I hired Max to landscape my front yard. We agreed that his company would remove the exiting turf and haul off, install a decomposed granite path and a dry creek bed, and cover with mulch. The agreed cost was $6000. We both agreed that I would manage the planting and the irrigation. I had lots of problems with Max not showing up when he said he would and not calling. I had to chase after him often. His crew ruined two of my garden hoses. He eventually, after much reminding, replaced one of them with another used hose that also leaks/sprays water near the connection. They did not properly install the DG path as discussed and eventually, again with much effort on my part, come back to compact it. However, it remains unacceptable because it began to set before being properly compacted, and because he did not put a gravel foundation under the DG as discussed. The third and most concerning problem is that Max's crew dug up and ripped out my in-ground irrigation system. He says we agreed on this but that is not true. He says that I was not reachable, which is also not true. I was away on vacation but was always reachable by mobile phone. I had also given him my daughter's number and she was home the entire time I was gone. I have tried to work this out with him but he has ignored my requests. He left me two hostile, condescending and sarcastic voicemails. He eventually replaced one of the two broken hoses but has not made any offer of restitution for the other issues.Jan 10, 2019Verified

Lawn Mowing and Trimming
Max was very professional and punctual. I hired him for a month as a fill in until I could find a permanent landscaper and they did a great job. I would highly recommend.Jun 6, 2017Verified

- What is your typical process for working with a new customer? We like to come out for a free estimate. We rarely give a price based on photos. We like to meet with the customer in person, as well as see the job with all of its surroundings to ensure an accurate, and in some cases, safe estimate.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?Find the person who can describe the job to you in a way you can understand. Landscaping is a logical job. It should make sense. If someone tells you something and you don't understand it, trust your gut and question it.
