Do not hesitate to call G B Construction for gutter cleaning and replacement and leaf guards. They are prompt, quick, thorough, friendly and professional. Their charges are reasonable, and they do not upsell. I understand that they also do tile and wood floors, painting and household moving. I will be using them again and again.

My experience with Dream Builders is somewhat mixed. I was very happy with how Sam jumped in and help me decide on using tile instead of a three piece plastic surround. He and his helper got right on the job of removing the old tile and damp and moldy sheetrock and insulation. The tub installation and plumbing went well. However, in terms of the new tile installation, I was a little disappointed in the rate of progress. Sam left the tile work to his helper and often was not on the job site to oversee critical portions of the tile work. I suspect this is what resulted in a less than perfect job in terms of matching tile spaces. Also, according to Sam, his truck was in the shop, along with various tools and parts. This meant some extra running around and loss of time to get needed items. In spite of these issues, I would recommend checking out Dream Builders , but I would be a little careful if your project includes tile work.

Max was a professional young man who knows his job well. He came in and evaluated the project not only to his benefit but ours as well. Listened to what we had in mind and mentioned a few ideas of his own. We had a poor poor poor tile job done in our bathroom (shower and flooring) and kitchen (flooring) a couple years ago and it brought problems not only like the appeal of it but also mold and cracks, now that we are COMPLETELY satisfied with that we will move on to having other areas of our house redone and will be hiring Max and his team!

I hired (6/16) Mark to completely demo & put back together a custom shower with bench seating. I was a little hesitant because of a very poor experience with another tile setter who did an awful job (tiles are uneven, was not clean - left messes everywhere). I give Mark 5 stars for the following reasons; 1. Communication - very easy to talk with and has in-depth knowledge of tile setting. Mark guided me through making key suggestions that made this project a pleasant experience 2. Availability - Always responded quickly, always was early and on time!! 3. Quality of work - exceptional and detailed. There is a lot of work that goes into a shower that is not seen, Mark coordinated the entire project from demo, hop moping, plumbing, and the finished product...Tiles were set to perfection!! 4. Cleanliness - This was a 3 week project and each night we came home Mark made the extra effort to clean up....we hardly new he was there!!

If there were a sixth star, I would award it to Osbaldo. This is a bit of a late review as the project was completed prior to Thanksgiving 2014. We had carpeting, tile, and baseboard removed. New tile was laid in the kitchen and half bath. Hardwood flooring and 5 1/4" baseboard were installed in the family room. Moreover, a custom hearth, mantel, and stone facade were added to the fireplace. The result was excellent and we are still pleased with the craftsmanship. We will be hiring Osbaldo again for additional projects.

Jayme did the tile job on our master bath remodel. His work is outstanding. He took care in every tile placed and always maintained a clean work area. Our bathroom remodel was a big tile job, having 9 different styles and sizes of tile, Jayme provided me with a lot of great ideas to complete my design. Our family is very exited to have such an amazing bathroom and it is now referred to the spa, and are planning to have a party in our bathroom to show it off! Fantastic work and looking forward to hiring him on another job!

We had our shower remodeled. KGA did the demo work of tile and replumbed the faucet. He tiled and installed new hardware. He was professional and worked straight through. The grout product we purchased was sticky making it difficult to work with, so there are a few spots that grout is not filling gaps properly. Overall we are happy with the updated shower.

Paul remodeled our bathroom installing tile in the tub/shower and bath floor, granite on the counter top of the vanity. Being a retired tile contractor myself, I wanted someone who had the skills equal to or surpassed my abilities as a contractor ( I am very particular). Needless to say the work was installed with great care and was impressive! Paul is a master tile setter who takes great care to do the job with skill and precision. When you want perfect job Paul Bonaldi tile and stone is the company you will be happy with.

Kurt suggested instead of just doing Cabinet refinishing in the kitchen to do the cabinets throughout the entire home since they were identical throughout and all could use the upgraded look.

Keith is an excellent handyman who can do just about everything you need up to and including project management. He takes great pride in his work, is always on time, and he is trustworthy. I had him do pretty much everything to get our rental ready for the market. Plumbing, tiling a bathroom, dry rot repair work, you name it he can do it! He went above and beyond and even helped me coordinate with granite installers while we were out of town. I would not hesitate to hire him again for any project and I recommend him heartily.

My home suffered severe water damage and pretty much everything that could go wrong did. Until Greg Buxton at Buxton tile came along. I have never seen a more professional looking job. He was able to start the job quickly and had it done within a week. In total, he tiled my kitchen, entryway, laundry room, spare bathroom and master bathroom. He recommended a flooring store to me and that in itself saved me over $1000 in materials (I was headed for Home Depot, thankfully I was redirected) You will not go wrong with Buxton Tile.

Josh was my 2nd Tile guy to come out and give me an estimate on the huge Backsplash job I wanted done done in my Tattoo room in my studio, as well as tile work on that floor and the floor in the bathroom.. Josh from the get go seen my vision and I felt like josh was the guy for the job and I felt very comfortable with him working in my business before hours.. He did a complete demo of old sinks and counter tops in the Tattoo room and complete demo and remodel of bathroom.. The flooring had some dry rot and he cut it up And out taking care of the things that will go wrong in the near future with out breaking the bank.. His process was very clean and organized.. The work and craftsman ship he does is Amazing and not one single corner was cut during the process.. He became kinda like family by the time the job was done, so last minute I even had him do a backsplash for the bathroom to compliment the backsplash in my tattoo room and to go with the tile flooring he did in the newly remodeled bathroom... Josh is your man for the job..

Joe came out to do my guest bathroom. I had a hole in my wall that needed to be patched up before laying tile. He and his team were able to patch up any holes and remove any previous fixtures that were mounted to the wall. And then he installed this beautiful tile with the right accent tile we wanted. Joe was very professional throughout the entire job and he even cleaned up after his mess after he was done. I would definitely recommend these guys. They get the job done and they do it fast. I will be calling these guys for my future tile repairs.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much does it cost to get tiling done?

You can install tiling on your floors, walls, counters, kitchen backsplash, outdoor patio and shower — to name a few places. Tile is beautiful, easy to clean, durable, and resilient against kids and pets. The national average for tile installation cost ranges between $490 and $750. Often, tile installation specialists quote a price per square foot for installation. Costs can increase if you want the pro to supply the tile instead of ordering it yourself. Other factors that can increase cost include specialized installation with a unique design that will require more labor to install.

Prep work will also affect tile installation costs. Demolition of the existing floor, counter or backsplash takes time and energy that will be reflected in the price. Necessary repairs, such as a sub-floor that needs bolstering before tile flooring can be installed, will also increase costs. For tile showers, one example of tile installation cost may be approximately $25 per square foot including all materials and labor. Average tile installation costs for backsplashes may run anywhere from $10 to $40, depending on the materials selected and the amount of labor required. The larger the area where tile is being installed, the lower the price per square foot will likely be. For example, a flooring pro may charge approximately $3.50 per square foot for wood-look tile installation in an area ranging between 6 feet by 24 feet and 8 feet by 48 feet.

How much does it cost to tile a shower?

The cost of tiling a shower depends on two main factors: the size of the shower and the quality of the tiles. In general, most professional tilers charge an average of $25 per square foot of tiled area and the national average cost for a tile installation project is $490-$750. The tiles themselves are the greatest variable; the cost depends on their size, shape, pattern and manufacturer. For example, tile purchased at a volume discount from a big-box store cost far less than tiles made in small batches by an artisan ceramics shop. Prices can range from as little as $1 to $50 or more per square foot of tile. Other factors that will drive up the total tile installation cost are grout and mortar, speciality tiles like bullnose caps or soap holders, and surface prep materials, especially if drywall needs to be replaced before the tile can be installed. Many tile installers will also remove and haul away any old materials from an existing shower installation.

How much does it cost to tile a bathroom?

Tile installation costs are a key part of your bathroom remodel costs. The tile you select (which can range from under $2 per square foot to $50 per square foot or more), the demolition and repair work required prior to installation, and the size of the job will all affect cost. You can install tile in the shower, on the counters, on the wall or on the floor. The national average for tile installation cost ranges between $490 and $750. Bathroom tile is easy to clean and durable for daily life. Here are some examples of average bathroom tile installation costs:

  • Tile installation at $25 per square foot of tiled bathroom area.
    • A standard tub and shower combo requires tiles for approximately 60 inches of length. Calculate wall height and add 30 to 36 inches of tub width for the walls at the head and foot of the tub. If the tile walls are 6 feet to 8 feet high, in this example, the tile installation costs would run about $2,000. Price includes materials.
  • Tile installation on a 3-foot by 5-foot regular tub and shower walls with an 8-foot ceiling: $1,450. Price includes materials.
  • Tile installation on a 3-foot by 5-foot regular tub and shower walls with a 10-foot ceiling: $1,650. Price includes materials.

How much does it cost to install a ceramic tile floor?

Tile installation costs for ceramic floors depend on the type of tile you select. You can purchase tile that sells for under $2 per square foot or tile that costs $50 per square foot — or more for artisanal and hand-painted tiles. The cost of labor to install a tile floor will also depend on the tile you select. It is far less labor-intensive to install a white 12-inch by 12-inch square tile than a 2-inch by 2-inch hexagonal tile with a distinct pattern. That extra time and energy equates to a higher per-square-foot installation cost. For example, a flooring pro may charge approximately $3.50 per square foot for labor to install wood-look tile in an area ranging between 6 feet by 24 feet and 8 feet by 48 feet. That same pro may charge $6 or more per square foot for a more intricate pattern, or a smaller space. Some installers may charge a minimum day rate for ceramic tile floor installation, such as $340 minimum per day, to cover business expenses and employee wages. If you’re looking to reduce costs, removing your existing flooring and handling any repairs needed can help eliminate prep work costs. Prep work may be charged per hour and could cost anywhere from $25 to $80 per hour or more, depending on the region and the type of repair work necessary.

How much does it cost to install tiles in a kitchen?

One of the most common kitchen upgrades is installing decorative backsplash tiles in the space between the counters and cabinets. It’s a chance for homeowners to get creative while also protecting the kitchen walls from splashes and stains. Like all tiling projects, kitchen tile project costs depend on the tiles you choose, installation materials such as grout and mortar, and any surface materials, like replacement backer board. The national average for a tiled kitchen backsplash is $490-$750. In general, pricing averages $10-$40 per square foot for installation, not including tile. Some professional tile installers have a minimum day rate for small projects, which averages $350.
