Bill was a delight to work with. He was friendly, knowledgeable and trustworthy. Arrived on time for a consultation on a Wednesday and installed our flat screen by Friday. I would highly recommend him to anyone.May 26, 2019VerifiedWooden Shipp's's reply
Thanks for your great review Lisa. I enjoyed working with you as well, and your dogs were great. Thanks to your boys for their help also. I hope you all enjoy your holiday weekend even more with your TV up and viewable from more areas of your rooms around it! Bill
Bill is very knowledgeable and professional. My computer was very slow and so was by wife's computer. He install a couple of programs on our computers free which will allow us to clean the hard drives in the future as needed. I also wasn't able to download my pictures from my smart phone to my computer. He fixed that too. I highly recommend him to you and I will use him again if the need arises.May 9, 2016Verified

Thank you very much for your kind review Jim. Please let me know if there is anything I might do for you or your wife in the future, or if there are any questions I might help you with by phone. You have a wonderful place, and I'm sure you will continue to enjoy it now that the rain has stopped for a few months I hope, Bill
Network Support Services
I needed to make my internet connection more reliable to my home office. My first idea was to run a wired network connection between the cable modem and the home office. Wireless networking products had been unreliable in the past. Bill looked at the layout of the house and dad that running the network cable from the opposite sides of the house would be costly and time consuming, but he did point out a number of ways to route the wire. Bill worked out a solution where the incoming cable tv cable was supposed to an unused cable tv cable already in the attic and moving the cable modem upstairs. In the end, the home office pcs note have a direct connection to the internet and Bill competed the job in a little over an hour.Jan 5, 2017Verified

Bill did a great job of taking my older stereo system and making it work with a newer TV (HDMI capable).Dec 15, 2018Verified
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?I charge $95 for the 1st hour (minimum billable time) for all visits. Although not complicated, some of the following will affect my fee: I will often NOT charge more than the minimum $95 to complete what I consider my basic service, (Complete security check and evaluation of every client's system, and a mini tune-up), even if that requires more than an hour, in addition to remedying all the issues requested. I need to charge extra for the following: Travel - depending on distance to the client, and if I will not be in the general area when the client needs my service. Software - usually only Anti-Virus if yours has expired or is not a good performer. Also specific software to perform a needed client request if there aren't any free available. Parts - any hardware that needs to be replaced or added.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work? There are numerous classes available for specific areas of study, but I do my own learning as needed for newly released or updated software (like new MS Windows OS versions and new MS Office releases). I try and keep track of the current hardware technology and software programs.
- How did you get started doing this type of work? Was going to be a chemical engineer and the 1st year in college had a tough time with the imaginary functions of Calculus, while getting a surprise A in FORTRAN programming. My friend's Dad had just opened the 1st Computer Programming school in the country, so I went there at his suggestion. Got a job after completing the 1st class in Assembler programming (Mainframes). Been in the IT field amd learning ever since.
