FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I charge $95 for the 1st hour (minimum billable time) for all visits. Although not complicated, some of the following will affect my fee: I will often NOT charge more than the minimum $95 to complete what I consider my basic service, (Complete security check and evaluation of every client's system, and a mini tune-up), even if that requires more than an hour, in addition to remedying all the issues requested. I need to charge extra for the following: Travel - depending on distance to the client, and if I will not be in the general area when the client needs my service. Software - usually only Anti-Virus if yours has expired or is not a good performer. Also specific software to perform a needed client request if there aren't any free available. Parts - any hardware that needs to be replaced or added.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I try to accurately and quickly assess every clients immediate issues, problems, and wants so I can provide solutions and fulfill their needs as efficiently as possible, and set an appointment for their earliest available time that I can provide. This usually takes only a few minutes of questions over the phone for me to get a good understanding of what I will need to do to complete their request(s), and can often provide a close estimate by the end of this call. At the beginning of every client visit I reassess and confirm / update their requested services and give my best estimates and options (if any) to provide solutions that fulfill their requests.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
There are numerous classes available for specific areas of study, but I do my own learning as needed for newly released or updated software (like new MS Windows OS versions and new MS Office releases). I try and keep track of the current hardware technology and software programs.
