FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Yes, I give more than half off for the second child in the family wanting to take lessons, and divide the hour into 2 different lessons. Special rates for large families. 50% off introductory lesson.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
Coaching a student to apply to University of California at Stanford Music Department. Requirements were to perform a jazz composition or two on video for the Music Department on DVD. We selected the pieces and included an improvised section in one of the songs. The audio is available to listen to under College Entry and Audition on the MrEvan website. And he was admitted 2 weeks after the submission of the Music Audition DVD.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
When considering a piano teacher, interview three and consider these main points: 1. Length of experience and credentials and membership in a Teacher's Association. 2. An abundance of rapport with children and parents 3. An infectious enthusiasm for teaching piano and music 4. Ideally: Ability to demonstrate magnificently and to play and communicate exceptionally well.
