When Defeat Is Not An Option
Being faced with criminal charges is a highly stressful and devastating ordeal. Samuel Spital understands what each client is going through, and he pulls out all the stops to establish a winning defense.
Having formerly served as a Deputy Attorney General prosecuting criminal cases for the State of California Department of Justice, I became aware of the need to appropriately evaluate the facts and circumstances, develop a strategy, and, therefore, provide an effective plan of action to obtain a winning solution. With those values in mind, I left government service and opened my own law practice in 1978. I am passionate about my work because it allows me to level the playing field by developing, initiating, and delivering a persuasive legal and factual argument. We know that a defendant may get only one chance in the legal system, and we don't want to see him or her gamble on the outcome.
Samuel is based in San Diego, CA. He has been in service for over 39 years, handling criminal law cases of all varieties in the investigative stage, arrest, formal misdemeanor and felony charges, probation violations, and appeals of crime convictions.
My most successful case was one in which I represented a client who had "two strikes," as well as new and very serious charges that contained additional strike allegations, such that he was facing 25 years to life. Also, his bail was set for $1 million. I presented a compelling argument to reduce the bail so my client had to pay only $1,000, and the end result of my work on the case was that he received no jail or prison time.
