FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
There is no standard pricing system per say, it varies case by case depending on the level of difficulty of each individual case and the amount of time expected to spend on each case. However, typically family law attorneys in San Diego county have an hourly rate that ranges from $250 to $350 per hour (and some are even higher than that). I am on the lower end of the scale, usually, at $200 an hour. Moreover, your typical family law attorney in San Diego county requires a retainer to get started on your case. Think of a retainer as a down payment or an upfront payment before services can be provided. Typical retainers for family law attorneys in San Diego county vary between $2,500 to $5,000, and some attorneys have even higher retainers than that. My retainer is generally on the lower end of that spectrum, usually starting out at $2,000. Some cases can require a higher amount, whereas some cases may require a lower amount.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Potential clients are given a free consultation. If I feel I can meet their needs, I will proceed to offer them legal services at a very reasonable price.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been a licensed attorney in the state of California for almost 14 years, where primarily I have dealt with family law, including divorce, child custody, and child support.
