Super responsive and super great guy. His technician was delayed in a fender bender on the way to my tuning appointment, so Alex himself jumped in the car and came to my home (all the way from El Cajon to Carlsbad!). My piano sounds great - thank you. I will use you again!

Before taking piano lessons with Rebecca, my only experience with musical instruction was through elementary and junior high. Rebecca's training and personal dedication to music makes her an extraordinary teacher. We use the Suzuki books, which I love because that's what I used for violin and flute. She supplements those favorites with really nice adult-learning-centered books on theory. As an adult learner, this was helpful, because I could read through these brief books, but then had the terminology to look up my questions online or know what to ask in lessons. The lessons are so fun and well organized. We work on the songs in the books (which included CDs of the songs so you can hear what the song might sound like if you practice enough) and she would help me with songs I brought in too. Rebecca is so kind, and is great with my five-year-old too. Really, Rebecca is an excellent music instructor. Her academic background, many years of actually playing piano and singing, knowledge of the music available and books, and variety of students -- all make her a versatile teacher, capable of helping anyone learn to the play the piano in whatever style they are interested in. Plus, she is an incredible person. I look forward to piano lessons with her.

My kids took piano lessons all the time in the past and barely progressed. With Ryan. They are advancing faster and he keeps them motivated! We all love his classes

This guy knows his stuff!! Been taking drum lessons and jazz piano technique sessions with Josh and I couldn't be more impressed with the amount I've learned so quickly. I'm looking forward to studying regularly with him! Super kind dude and loves to help his students understand these difficult concepts.

My daughter had violin lessons with Ms Amy for a year. We loved the convenience of having lessons in our own home with a great teacher, as her lessons were taught privately via Skype. Our only regret was that it would have been even better to work with her in person, but seeing as we lived in another state, that wasn't an option for us. Ms Amy was a great teacher! She was an inspiration to our daughter and helped her to love the violin.

My daughter loves taking lessons with Jessica. I don't really know anything about singing, so she has been very helpful in letting me know how I can support my daughter in her interest in singing. Jessica is a super positive, up beat person and is definitely a roll model I love having my daughter around. I would definitely recommend her.

Nicole is a great teacher! I have little background in music, especially piano, and I was unable to read music. However, Nicole has been able to teach me through patient progression and my form playing has improved greatly since our first lesson! My favorite thing about lessons with Nicole is that although she works to give you a solid foundation in the fundamentals, she asks what songs you would like to learn and works with you to learn them as well.

US Music Lessons is great. My daughter's been receiving piano lessons for a little over a year now and it's been a positive experience. The teachers are nice and their rates are reasonable, better than similar services out there.

About

I teach piano, violin and guitar lessons at my home studio in San Diego, CA. Studio lessons are $30 for 30-minute lessons, $45 for 45-minute lessons, and $60 for one-hour lessons, with tuition paid monthly. I also travel to my students' homes for lessons. Depending on your location, a travel fee will apply for in-home lessons. I believe that learning music should be fun, and I tailor lessons to meet the individual needs and goals of my students. I encourage and assist my students in finding music that interests them and inspires them to practice and improve. All students are invited to participate in peer performance classes and recitals. I communicate clearly with students and parents, and help students set and achieve their musical goals. I have 15 years of experience teaching private music lessons, as well as preschool and elementary school classroom music. I studied music at the University of Minnesota and Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle. In addition to being a teacher, I am also a composer, a performing musician, and a vibrant member of the musical community. I perform regularly in a variety of musical groups, including the Summer Januaries and Golden Tree Story, and record as a studio musician.

About

I teach private piano lessons in your home or my studio. I've performed Gospel, Blues, Rock and R&B for over 30 years now and I enjoy teaching during the week. I feel that a solid base of theory and sight reading is important. I will use whatever methods work best for my students on an individual basis. Every student learns differently. I can use books, iPad apps or just go off script with a pad and paper... or any combination. I've very open to taking a break from theory and learning something fun as well. Once a solid foundation is set, we can go in various directions and genres. From playing by sheet music, chord charts, YouTube or playing by ear. My goal is for my students to have a working knowledge of music theory while learning practical ways to play and be successful with your own goals. I also perform for several bands, artists and churches. I specialize in Gospel, Blues, Funk, R&B and Smooth Jazz.
