Introduction: MTCCA promotes, empowers and serves families, children with special needs and adults utilizing neurologic music therapy strategies. At our two clinic locations, Mission Valley and Encinitas, MTCCA provides individual and group music therapy, adapted music lessons, IEP-based services, summer and holiday social camps (Camp Jam) and sessions in facilities.
We offer a free 30-minute screening in our clinics for children with special needs. MTCCA also provides wellness programs for retirees in their communities. In addition, experiential and educational services such as workshops, in-services and presentations are offered. MTCCA believes in creating quality products such as In Harmony: An Integrated Learning Program with Speech and Music Therapy (a CD/flashcard kit with manual) and Kibbles' Rockin' Clubhouse (a video series for children with special needs) to help the families we serve.
Our philosophy is to provide quality, research-based, and individualized services. We assess and capitalize on our clients' strengths to motivate them to reach their highest potential. For this reason, we consult with other team members, including parents and staff, empowering them to use techniques from music therapy sessions in outside settings to aid in generalizing skills into other areas of life.
