Introduction: Greetings Athletic Adventurers,
I am so excited to bring the Athletic Adventurer programs to life for you! The mission statement behind athletic adventurer is, capable in body, adventurous in spirit, at any age. Let's work together to improve your ability to move and your confidence in trying new activities and sports.
I created athletic adventurer to help people of all ages gain confidence in their abilities and improve their athletic movement skills. When I was a kid I wasn't athletic. I was clumsy and very uncoordinated. most of my family was sedentary. There was a path to obesity and heart disease a head for me if I had followed the path I began on. Most often, when I would try sports I would just end up hit in the face with a ball. Eventually I came to the conclusion I just wasn't meant to do sports. However, I would see others having fun running around and enjoying playing sports and wished I could join with out fear of getting smacked in the face with a ball . . . again. As an adult I would stick to using machines at the gym just to try and stay healthy and in shape, but I became so board so quickly. There must be a better way or at least a more entertaining way to train! I started trying different activities and different training programs. I was so interested in figuring out how movement works I made it my career and became a personal trainer. Through a lot of hard work, study, and exploration I found the tools I needed to improve the athletic skills of myself and my clients. Through specific practice of visual skills, balance skills, strength training and rhythm training we can not only help with athletic movement abilities, but with our daily life needs for pain free comfortable movement. I am now enjoying trying new things and exploring sports and athletics I wasn't capable of when I was younger. I am doing so with confidence that I know how to move my body well and pain free. Through building your movement skills your body can become capable of things you hadn't even considered before. Understanding how your body works and knowing you have control of your movement can increase your confidence, and make trying new things more enjoyable. This brings an adventurous spirit to how you train, play, and participate in sports. No matter your age you can start practicing your skills, feeling and moving better. It would be my pleasure to be your athletic adventurer guide, as you explore your athletic skills and leave your pain and stiffness behind.
