I’ve been training with Jose for a couple months now and I didn’t expect to have an instructor that is an expert in so many different disciplines! Judo, Muay Thai, wrestling, BJJ. It’s crazy how much I learn each session and I HIGHLY recommend to anyone looking for martial arts instruction.

This trainer is recommended for his passion and ability. His focus is tailoring each session to developing the client into a well-rounded fighter. Individual drills accompany bag work, which leads up to sparring for quasi-real fight conditions.

Jose is a gem. Not only did he inspire me to push my limits, he gave me confidence to be able to protect myself. I had a rough experience at the beginning of this year that shook my feeling of safety and he gave me that feeling back. Can’t thank him enough. I’ll forever be grateful for what he has taught me both physically and mentally. His Muay Thai skills are on point. He’s an excellent teacher adept at evaluating a clients strengths, weaknesses and adjusting the workout accordingly. He is extremely knowledgeable in training as well as working with modifications. If you’re feeling pain in any areas or have an injury he tailors your sessions to your specific needs. 10/10 would recommend.

I love working with knowledgeable people because I feel like I can trust their workouts. Jose is one of those coaches. He knows his anatomy, and therefore he’s able to construct a workout tailored specifically to help me achieve my fitness goals. I’ve been working with him for over 6 months now, and he’s adapted our training sessions to my athletic development; focusing on strength and conditioning, endurance training, martial arts (his profession), and most importantly— keeping my body healthy and strong by fixing my posture’s muscular imbalances that we all obtain from our regular everyday lives.

    I am willing to work with you and if we do a package the price will drop significantly.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

    The first session will be devoted to movement screens to identify any impediments to our future trainings. After the movement screen we will begin training by simple kinetic movements like hip hinging, external / internal rotaion of joints, and cardiovascular efficiency.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

    My education started as a kinesiology major at Parkland College in Champaign, IL. I'm certified as a personal trainer from the American Council of Exercise. I am a MMA and Muay Thai professional fighter since 2015. I have also played rugby for the University of San Diego and the University of Illinois.
