Ben is phenomenal at drawing on students' individual personality and interests to spark a curiosity of music that pulls them forward in their learning.
He finds a way to teach musical theory in a way they understand at basic or advanced level depending on student needs.
While he encourages the kids to practice, rework sections of music, recount with metronome, and self-reflect on their playing, Ben always does it in a way that feels collaborative and supportive, never shaming.
I love that he teaches students both classical and contemporary styles so students have a strong foundation and a joyful range to either sit down and read music or pick out a song by ear.
My oldest child has had several piano/guitar teachers over the years but Ben has been absolutely number one!
The intention and thoughtfulness behind his lessons even translate through the Zoom screen, which is incredible professionalism to be able to do.
Plus, he's just a great musician himself and all-around good human.
My kids have always felt respected by him, which I think is the key to his teaching success.
We are SO grateful for Ben as our music instructor and want other families to have this positive experience impact their lives as well.
Music is one of the best gifts we can give our kids!

Ben has been a great instructor. He's a modest yet insightful teacher that places value on consistency. Ben has been patient and positive during all of our lessons. He has helped direct musicals and is competent with many aspects of music. I definitely know that I've progressed more under his guidances than I thought I would have. Highly recommend! 5 out of 5 stars!

I've had the pleasure of taking lessons at BMN Music and Theory for the better part of 5 years. As an amateur instrumentalist, Ben was able to help me open up on both bass guitar and now electric guitar; expanding my basic knowledge of chord shapes, chord progressions, soloing, modal theory, and much more than I can remember! I owe it to him for allowing me to become a musician I didn't think was possible. You won't be disappointed!

I have hired Mr. Ben Neal for many jobs over the past years for various positions. Mr. Neal has been an instrumentalist in the band and orchestra for live performances, he’s assisted and advised in stage tech and recording arts, and has musically directed. He also plays multiple instruments and can read music. I will be hiring him for again.
