Why I love Shape Up Studio...There are several reasons. First of all, there is something about that gym that feels different. There's really good energy and the atmosphere feels relaxed and fun at the same time. All the trainers are so kind, approachable and very knowledgeable. I've been going there for a few months now and have gotten to meet Markshane. He's very dedicated, professional, and filled with energy. He takes the time to really listened and help you reach your goals, whether it's loosing weight, training for an event, or simply keeping an active lifestyle. I also love my 30 minute circuit class on Tues & Thursdays with Vinny. That class is super fun and you go at your own pace. Getting massages with Christine, the massage therapist, is also a treat-Especially, when it's in the same building. They have a nutritionist there as well that can guide you and keep you on track. A lot of the comments below definitely resonated and seems that there is a commonality: and that is a great place to train with the support you need. That is why I love Shape Up Studio! P.s. As a vegetarian (working toward a vegan) and eating lots of leafy greens, whole grains and other healthy foods, and exercising, I was surprised when I began feeling poorly. I was miserable, suffering from bloating, headaches, and overall just feeling awful. My regular doctor was no help, nor was the GI specialist he sent me to--both just wanted to prescribe drugs. I suspected it had something to with the food I was eating, but didn't know where to turn for help. I did some research and am so thankful I found Donna Wolfe. After reading her qualifications I knew she was someone who could help me. At our first appointment she spent over 90 minutes with me, asking questions about my symptoms and listening to my answers (such a change from my primary care doctor). She did the MRT test and when I went back to hear my results, she again spent quite a bit of time with me, explaining everything and patiently answering my questions. It was a lot of information to take in all at once! As I had questions between appointments, Donna answered my emails promptly. Having her available gave me confidence to make the dietary and lifestyle changes she recommended. Within two weeks of beginning the LEAP protocol, I began feeling better, and now most of my symptoms are gone. I have more energy and am running more often, which is a huge bonus for me. I have learned so much about nutrition and how the foods we eat and products we use impact all aspects of our health. I am so thankful that I took the step to contact Donna. Best nutritionist in San Diego for natural and healthy foods, especially if you are thinking of becoming a vegan or vegetarian! Basically, I was a bachelor and I needed guidance for grocery shopping, meal prep and did one of her cooking classes focused on smoothies and juicing - was geared to yogis/athletes (pre and post workouts). I was taken to People's in Ocean Beach for a one hour tour (place is all vegetarian), and I learned the best things to pick out from each isle. She also treated me to a salad in their cafe, and told me what salad bar items pack the best nutrition (I was focusing on slowly eating less meat and just making sure I was getting good protein). My work is hiring her for our corporate wellness program based on her dietician background and nutritionist certification...sweet! She has awesome teas too, they cleanse you out ;)
