Jose and his crew showed up on time, in fact they were early. They were ready to work and did an excellent job of extracting a truck load of backyard junk, including scrap wood, bricks, etc. They cleaned the area quite nicely. I would recommend Jose.
Turned up on time. Did really good work. removed all dry rot, replaced, sealed and painted new wood trim which had to be cut to size and fit. Gave good advice on maintenance care. Kept to price which was good. Also made a helpful inspection of other areas of concern and quoted same day for those repairs.Left everything clean and tidy.
We hired Jaime to demo our backyard which had a concrete patio and pavers, remove a tree, and install stamped concrete. He did an excellent job! We are very satisfied with his work; it turned out much better than we could have ever imagined! Jaime worked hard and his price was very reasonable. We will definitely consider using him again in the future for our home projects. Thanks again, Jaime!!!
Fernando was professional in every way, from initial contact to post job completion. He was able to fix 2 broken wood gates on our property, one of which had completely blown off its hinges, damaging the frame. Fernando was able to keep the gate and repaired the frame perfectly. He followed up the evening afterwards to make sure the job was 100% satisfactory. Would not hesitate to work with him again or recommend him to others.
It was a pleasure to have Dario remodel our fireplace with a marble surround and hearth. I was very pleased with his attention to detail and an eye for what looks good. Add to that good communication from start to finish, as well as a very reasonable cost, and Dario is a winner. I am so glad I found him here on Thumbtack.
I found Pat on thumbtack & so far he has installed walls, doors, tile, paint, cupboards, replaced termite damage wood, stucco, roofing & electrical. Not much he can't do as far as I can tell. Next he is pouring a cement slab for us & hooking up our new spa. He is a very conscientious worker that strives for perfection in all that he does. He is a great problem solver & fantastic at coming up with less expensive solutions for us. He is a delight to work with very eager to please us despite my high expectations. I highly recommend him!
Jason was awesome! We just bought a home with seriously clogged dryer vent. The clogging was so stubborn that Jason had to come back with a special tool. He came back as many times as it took us to be satisfied with the result. Each time he made sure to do as much as he can and wait around for a 20 min dryer cycle to see how much improvement was made. He also gave us different ideas about what we can do as a permanent solution in the future. He was very knowledgeable, professional, and punctual. In fact, we decided to also hire him to clean our fireplace chimney. We would definitely use him again.
I live in a condo and my building recently had a chimney fire on one side that resulted in severe damage. I asked Burnie Fireplace Services to come out and inspect my chimney to make sure it was clean and in good shape to ensure safety on my side of the building. Burnie Fireplace's father and son team were professional, thorough, knowledgeable, and gave me important information about the chimneys on my side of the building. I found them to be honest and fair. That's so important in today's world! I would have liked the written report to have been more comprehensive on what the inspection included, but they gave my chimney a clean bill of health and spent a lot of time talking with me and answering my questions. I would definitely recommend them!
Ted called me back immediately with a quote and explanation of what he would need. He completed the work within 1 day of contacting me and did so with extreme professionalism and craftsmanship. He took a messy, unfinished project and made it beautiful. I would give him more than 5 stars just for the worry he took off of my shoulders. I feel lucky to have found such a skilled professional.
Greg was going to replace the treads and risers on my front stairs (wood). Instead he created a masterpiece. Despite running into several problems with rotten stringers and termite damage, Greg still remained close to the estimated time they would take to repair. I cannot say I was not forewarned about unseen issues. The impressive thing is Greg does not just tell you about them, he shows them to you, and gives you the pros and cons of fixing the problems or leaving them alone. He and I went to the lumber store where he showed me various types of wood we could use and explained the differences between them. That way I could make an informed decision, choose according to my budget, and see exactly where my money was being spent and the amount I was spending. I had always wanted natural, unpainted wood stairs, and that is what I got. A lovely golden cedar oil base stain and sealer with non-skid additive and I have the nicest stairs in the park. Greg also leveled them (they were not level when I hired him), removed the ugly metal runners from the treads and sides, and ensured that everything was within code. I cannot stress enough how friendly, knowledgable and professional he is. His rates are more than reasonable, he is a pleasure to work with, and I would encourage you to give him a call for your next project. Greg is also replacing some flex pipe for me to bring my copper pipes up to code. A man of many talents, I am more than happy to recommend him to friends, neighbors, family and Thumbtack users.
Louis was prompt and professional. I loved that he brought along a helper because the last several handymen I hired before I found Louis had me climbing the ladders and holding objects in place while they nailed them. I'm not opposed to DIY projects, and am somewhat handy myself, just lacking tools or expertise for a lot of my jobs. Anyway, that extra pair of hands let me get on with the work *I* needed to do. He sized-up the sink install, described what he planned on doing, did the job and then found another problem with the pipes (we had just moved in and didn't use the bathroom he was working in so we didn't know that the p-trap area--original since 1952--was leaking). So he followed up with that, too. (additional cost, but not part of the original sink install contract--no problem to me, he does a great job!). Louis was a man of his word. Moreover he was creative about solving the laundry list of projects I set him to. I highly recommend him.
After a phone chat, I sent Mr. Duin an e-mail outlining the projects I had in mind. I asked him to help me select those that fit into my quarterly budgets. Together we selected three that needed attention this winter. 1. stabilize a wobbly 6 foot block (gate) wall that was inches from a gas main, 2. Build a short block wall that would hold back dirt from a muddy embankment, 3. Reinforce a swaying wood fence and wrap metal posts with cedar – box style. Mr. Duin and staff did an outstanding job of listening to my needs. I was impressed with their work, quality of materials, work ethics and attention to detail. They were very pleasant to work with and I look forward to our next round of projects. I hope to include the trim/molding (with up lighting) along the ceiling of my front porch which will have to wait until early Spring – due to budget considerations.
I have used Jennifer and Pacific Shoreline GC & Design for both remodeling and decorating & design services over the last several years. Most recently, they remodeled two bathrooms for me. Both bathrooms turned out great. The attention to detail was second to none and Jennifer was on-site everyday. The design and construction were on time and budget. Jennifer has also assisted me with design ideas for other parts of my home. I would not hesitate to use or recommend Jennifer and Pacific Shoreline GC.
OK – I have had good work done by Excel / Justin in the past. He has done excellent inside knotty pine wood refinishing with lacquer. I also had a good experience with kitchen, bathroom, and bedroom painting. He has also done good work on wood fences - both repair and staining. He really knows his paint smarts and does not like to do a “just get by” job. Works hard and fast but not always the most timely. I would use him again.
