Guitar & Piano Lessons with John
About this pro
John is super patient with me. I'm a total beginner to music/guitar, so definitely a plus! You can see he is passionate about music and I can't wait to see the progress I'm going to make with him! Update: After 4 months with John, I already improved quite a bit. I'm using Yousician and John. The app helps me try different kind of songs and keeps me motivated/entertained. John helps me avoid beginner mistakes. It's also crucial to be able to exchange with a professional and a passionate of music like John! A perfect duo :).Apr 24, 2018Verified
John is the first guitar teacher I have ever worked with. He got back to me immediately and made me feel very comfortable getting started. He took the time to learn my interest in playing and tailored everything to my goals, getting me excited to learn more and more. Thank you John!Jan 6, 2018Verified
John was very accomodating when I had to cancel my first lesson twice. He tailored the lessons specifically to the gaps in my skills and made sure I was always seeing real results along the way.Dec 19, 2017Verified

John is an entertaining and charismatic instructor. He is flexible with schedules and has a gentle, forgiving nature when you are working one-on-one during sessions. His teaching style is fun and adaptive based on what the student wants to learn. If you want to switch gears in the middle of a session because you are frustrated with a complex lick or technique, John quickly figures out an exercise for you to practice to help overcome that difficulty, then shifts to focus on something else that gets you out of the rut of frustration. He's a great teacher with a lot of good stories and impressive set of chops on guitar. *BONUS* He's a classically trained pianist as well — 2 instructors in 1!Sep 21, 2016Verified

- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?I think my 'pricing' is low, and hopefully encourages more people to give playing a try.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer? My first step is to get a sense of their musical interests and preferences, as well as, of course, their level of development musically. I also like to find out what their goals are musically and technically.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I have been a teacher and performer for many years; self-taught on the guitar, after years of classical piano training.
