John is super patient with me. I'm a total beginner to music/guitar, so definitely a plus! You can see he is passionate about music and I can't wait to see the progress I'm going to make with him!

John is the first guitar teacher I have ever worked with. He got back to me immediately and made me feel very comfortable getting started. He took the time to learn my interest in playing and tailored everything to my goals, getting me excited to learn more and more. Thank you John!

About this pro

My musical background goes beyond just playing guitar: I have years of experience teaching students, from beginners to advanced, as well as performing. I also have studied music in college, and took classical piano lessons from childhood. I seem to have a way to make students comfortable right away, and to be able to relate to their musical hopes and desires. There is tremendous pleasure to be had from watching a hopeful beginning student develop into an accomplished and confident player!

    Q & A

    • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I think my 'pricing' is low, and hopefully encourages more people to give playing a try.
    • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
My first step is to get a sense of their musical interests and preferences, as well as, of course, their level of development musically. I also like to find out what their goals are musically and technically.
    • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been a teacher and performer for many years; self-taught on the guitar, after years of classical piano training.
