Introduction: More Professional playing and teaching than most. Taught at International Vintage Guitars, Contemporary Arts Center, played in Coco Robicheaux's band, Gave Ronnie Earl blues guitar lessons, Have played hundreds of music gigs in New Orleans, New York and San Francisco. Plus I love to help people learn the music they want to learn in the ways they enjoy learning. Also hired and played with Fats Domino's bass player, jammed with Dr. John, Dave van Ronk, Rick Derringer, Ronnie Earl, Bobby Blue Bland"s guitarist, Jim Singleton, Tony Digradi, etc. Fun and among the the very best guitar teacher/ players you will find. Really. I love playing the guitar professionally and just to play.. I can help anyone to play guitar very well. It's enjoyable to learn if done in a musical way, based on the music you like. You can accomplish a lot more than you may think and all with the music you like. Learn by example or in a detailed way, it's up to you.

Marc's a good teacher. He's relaxed and clearly very talented and can both give you the high level explanation of how a song works and advice on some of the more technical finger picking patterns. Although I thought he could have shortened some of his explanations a bit, he's a very comfortable teacher and I'd highly recommend trying out a lesson with him to see if you're a good fit!

Every student can decide to either just learn how to play by me showing on the guitar with no explanations or learning by understanding how it all works. It"s up to you! My lessons are about what you want to learn. And there are many ways to get there. As a studio musician and player I like all of the ways; by just showing on the guitar, by listening to the music, by learning favorite parts of songs. entire songs, fingersyle, with pick, electric, acoustic, with or without written music, tabs, symbols, understanding scales, chords, etc. or not understanding. Music is about sounds and rhythms and feeling and enjoying the whole experience. It"s a lot of fun !!!!

Marc is a gentle teacher, but keeps you moving forward. Each lesson is a review and then introduces the next concept so you don't get lost in the theory. He never tries to make you feel guily for not practising like the old teachers did when we were kids. His intention is for you to enjoy playing guitar and you will if you do.

Marc gave me guitar lessons for about a year or more. It was a great experience for me as I began to understand what I was doing and improve greatly. It would have helped me more if I would have practiced more. Since then, however, I have gone on to play in several professional bands and I play bass and occasional guitar regularly in the New Orleans area. Thanks so much Marc. I wish you were back in New Orleans as I could use some pointers at this stage.

Marc is a wonderful teacher who can work with the very young and the not-so-young (I'm 58). Every lesson I had opened a new door of musical knowledge, from blues, to rock, country and jazz. His wisdom and insight, as well as his ability to convey his ideas to the student are a bargain to anyone interested in playing guitar at any level.

Marc technically excellent and eager to instruct, but what is unusual and special about Marc is if you allow him, he brings his soul to your lesson. I like him very much.
