Bill has been an excellent guitar teacher for our son for four years. He not only is knowledgeable of the teaching methods, but also makes lessons fun and exciting. My son was able to perform at several occasions- our favorite was at an elderly assisted living facility.

About this pro

Learn how to play the guitar, violin or harmonica! I offer the following: * Fun and lighthearted lessons -- I am very patient and encouraging, and I can really work with you to isolate and master trouble spots. * Over 10 years or experience -- I have worked with students of all ages and musical backgrounds. I've worked with students of many different learning styles, and I am very good at catering to an individual's unique way of learning. I studied music and communications at U-Mass Amherst, class of 2000. * Music theory expert -- I have been studying music theory since I was about 5 years old, and I can teach you the "why" as well as the "how." * Many styles and genres -- I can teach you classical, folk, bluegrass, rock, jazz, and electronic. You can let me know what you are most interested in. * Technique -- I will work with you on technique and make sure you get the best sound out of your instrument. * Basics -- We will work on scales, chords, arpeggios, reading music, as well as the most effective ways to practice. * Chord theory -- We will cover intervals, key signatures, and progressions. * Melody and harmony theory -- We will learn the structures and patterns of scales and will cover the fundamentals for song writing and improvisation. * Rhythm theory -- I will teach you about time signatures, song structures, syncopation, etc. * Recitals -- For those who would like to perform, I will set up recitals, which you can invite your friends to and show off your new skills. For these recitals, you can let me know a song you'd like to learn, and I will learn it (if I don't know it already) and teach it to you, or you may choose from the many songs that I can offer.

    Q & A

    • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Always ask for references. A good teacher will always have references which a potential new student can call.
