Michael is the biggest bang for the buck I’ve ever experienced in cleaning. He works super hard, super fast and is so SO anal about the books and crannies and details (he will even “style” my bookshelves after he’s cleaned them). When I come home after he’s finished working his magic, my house smells amazing, everything is sparkling and (the best part!!!!) he’s usually improved some furniture vignette or decor situation with his artistic “knack” for interior design. He’s the best.Feb 1, 2019VerifiedMister Clean Machine's reply

Full cleaning 2700 sq ft home - 9 hours. Best brokered or web-led housecleaning experience EVER. Michael is a smart (IQ and especially EQ) and articulate man who quickly became immersed (with a ton of energy) in our tasks with a high level of sensitivity to our particular home stage. He is a totally capable cleaner, sure - used a totally effective combo of his and our own chemicals, tools and methods - got the house lastingly clean (it's been 4 days since now, time to dispassionately inspect) in all the conventional ways, missed only a few nooks or crannies - and he sincerely wanted to know what we catch that he misses (we got the sense he'll remember for next time). BUT - what else? Most cleaners (especially on first time gigs) reveal a lot by how they handle the dusting / knick knack challenge - Michael got bookshelves and cabinets and chests and mantles and all that clean, "picking up" every little item to dust beneath, AND then surprised us by tweaking placement - staging - of MANY of the little precious things we've accumulated over the years and (not making this up) we had to agree 100% of the time that he'd put things back better than where he found them. He knew this was a scary thing to offer - told us some people ask him to refrain and he quickly restores things as they were ... but folks, this guy (he has apparently worked as a professional interior "stager") is genuinely talented - and this one housecleaning left us with improvements we really liked! So in addition to a VERY well cleaned home - we got insight and a freshening of how we live with some of our favorite little stuff. Hell of a deal - his rates are solidly in the middle of the market range for good cleaners. He has a great, informal way of handling scheduling and was totally candid upfront and easy about the business, personal space and performance aspects of a house-cleaning relationship. We'll have him back in a month for sure.Jun 13, 2015Verified
Packing and Unpacking
Hiring Michael was the best decision I've made in a long, long time. He reduced so much stress from my last minute move. He packed up mine and my partner's home with care and injected positivity at the same time. He stayed in constant communication over a week of several shifts and was punctual each and every time. To finish, he helped with the move out cleaning of my place and left it spotless in addition to noticing small repairs (I got my full deposit back!). I will hire him again in a heartbeat.Apr 13, 2019Verified
Mister Clean Machine created beauty and order from chaos with personal touches that I didn't even know I needed! He's best when left alone to create magic and able to give you the big reveal. I can't say enough about the details he was attentive to and the mind reading he placed into his order of my move from a 1400 sq ft home to a 450 sq ft apartment. His attention to detail & personal touches are insurpassable and his commitment to getting your stuff just right for you are his strengths. He goes the extra mile and implements his OCD gifts in your favor. Highest recommendation!Apr 11, 2019Verified
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?I typically charge an hourly rate, but can also provide a flat amount, once I able to see the scope of the work. It is nearly impossible for me to determihe a total cost with any accuracy without seeing the space.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take? There is nothing quite as motivating for me than the reaction of the client after "the big reveal". Recently, I helped a couple who had moved from NYC 2 1/2 months ago and still had not unpacked. Both so busy they had no time or motivation. I asked if I could come back on a day they knew they would be gone for 8-9hrs. So they scheduled me the following day, they planned to work and then go out to dinner. I worked straight through, so when they arrived home, there wasn't a single box. I had unpacked everything, organized the closets, staged the furniture, hung the artwork, had fresh flowers, music playing, and candles lit. They were set. She was so overwhelmed that it actually brought her to tears. It doesnt happen very often, but I'd have to say that bringing tears of joy is as good as it gets for me.
- What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?I am willing to pitch in and take on whatever tasks necessary to get your home looking pristine. But before delegating tasks to a professional, you should consider how much that actually costs you. To ask a professional to do your laundry or dishes is not always the best use of your money or their time. You are better off sending the laundry out and having the house cleaner do the more laborious duties.
