Introduction: I am a native Chinese speaker from Taiwan. I taught Chinese at Texas A & M University Corpus Christi for 2 years. The method of teaching is called performed culture, meaning there will be no English spoken starting from the first or second class. Everything can be conducted in Chinese and actions to help you practice Chinese in real scenarios. Dialogues taught are useful phrases to help you succeed to survive in a Chinese speaking country. I have been certified from a program call ALLEX where they train teachers to teach a language the performed culture method. I have taught 2 years at a university where I received 4.75 on my evaluations from my students. You can schedule a class to see if performed culture is a good teaching method to help you learn a brand-new language. I am currently doing sales at a start-up company in the downtown area. Teaching has always been a hobby to me. I can easily spend too much time on planning lessons that's customized to every student due to the different ages and levels. I design PowerPoint and props to help students understand the scenario under a Chinese only class period.

Angela's a great teacher. We've only had a couple lessons but I've learned so much more from our 1:1's than from text books and online videos. She's punctual, and even through technical difficulties with Zoom and Google Meet which sometimes can delay our lessons, she still always teaches for the full hour. I'd recommend Angela as teacher for anyone interested in learning Mandarin.

We hired Angela to teach our five and nine-year-olds Mandarin. We have had three lessons with her and so far, we are thrilled to have found her. Angela is thoughtful, intentional, enthusiastic, committed and genuinely cares about how my kids are learning. She always comes to lessons on time and prepared with worksheets, tools and lesson plans. She makes up games to keep the kids engaged and interested. She keeps a great balance between fun and structured teaching. She is a gifted teacher. Right now she's teaching them Pinyin and even though their progress is slower because we only see her once a week, I am happy with how much they're enjoying lessons. We cannot recommend her enough!
