Alexander was great to work with. He was very attentive from the start and listened to understand what would make for the best massage experience. He answered my questions and even suggested some stretches to practice at home. After a couple of days I'm still feeling limber and some of my aches and pains have subsided for the time being. I would highly recommend.Feb 21, 2019Verified
Can't recommend Alex enough! He was super responsive and very flexible with scheduling my session; the massage was perfect. He has a very warm, welcoming personality and his touch is incredible. I left feeling completely relaxed and refreshed. He was also able to give me insight into my body and advice on what stretching my body needs. Do yourself a favor and book with Alex!Jan 23, 2017Verified
Alex provided an awesome massage. I needed some work on my neck and back muscles, and Alex was able to schedule me for the next morning. At the start of the session, he asked me some general questions and provided water. He provided a mix of deep pressure and stretching. He also coached me on how to breathe during the massage. At the end of the session, he provided some posture exercises (yoga poses) to help me with those problem areas. I'm looking forward to seeing him soon. I felt better after the massage, and was relaxed enough for a long nap. Thanks Alex.Dec 25, 2016Verified
My first session with Alexander was one of the most restorative bodywork/massage experiences I've ever had! I went to him to work out chronic pain in my shoulders, glutes and hamstrings from marathon training, and I left 90 minutes later feeling like all the trouble spots were unlocked and back in their natural positions. I would definitely work with Alexander again! To start, he asked me about the specific areas I wanted to focus on and why. As Alexander dived into more detailed follow-up questions, I could tell - and really appreciated - that he takes a very individualized and holistic approach to his work. He first talked me through where he thought the pain was originating from and showed me some stretches/form adjustments for running. He then structured the massage to target the specific pain points I had identified, spending extra time on the places that really needed it and less on the places that didn't. It was an amazing feeling to have knot after knot get worked out and there was a moment where I felt my right shoulder just relax back into place when it hadn't felt normal for months. Given how tight some of the knots were, the massage definitely wasn't gentle, but Alexander offered helpful coaching throughout. In terms of logistics, booking the session, communicating with Alexander beforehand and paying afterwards (helpful that he accepts Venmo) were all seamless. The space itself was also really cozy and clean. All this to say: If you're looking for someone who is thoughtful, knowledgable, professional and part magician, do yourself a favor and book a session!Sep 28, 2018Verified
My first session with Alex was, hands down, the most premium experience I've had. I've had more than a few massages and I've learned that, for the most part, the therapists have a predefined routine they've settled into and there's really no variance between clients. Most will ask if you want special focus on a particular area and maybe you'll get a few extra minutes of their routine there, but that's about it. Alex is totally different. He listened attentively to my concerns and goals for the session and put real thought into developing ideas about what the root cause of certain misalignments might be. During the bodywork, it was abundantly clear that Alex was paying attention to the specific needs of the area he was working. It wasn't five minutes on this should then five minutes on that one - it was the amount of time and work each shoulder needed. I'm super grateful for having found Alex and I'm really looking forward to continuing to work with him. For me, massage is about caring for my body - keeping it healthy and ensuring it's performing optimally. Alex's thoughtful approach is exactly what I'd been looking for.Sep 2, 2017Verified

- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?$190/90 minutes $230/2 hours
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?I start by doing a quick interview with the person I'm working with. I like to ask questions that help me to understand any pain in the body, and where (if unknown) it could be stemming from. I of course ask about any past injuries/surgeries, and inquire around spots in the body that need the most focus. For clients who are interested in the more emotional, and trauma related work, I ask some questions around what they're working with, and how they'd like to move through their experience. Once on the table, I address the entire body, and work for a minimum of 90 minutes, I work with my clients to teach them how to breath into their bodies, and become more embodied in their awareness. Afterwards, I allow time to process anything that happened during the session, and offer stretches, tricks, herbs, or anything else that I think might be useful.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?Over 1200 hours (and counting) of training in massage, and bodywork. Focus in deep tissue, structural integration (Rolfing), myofascial release, visceral manipulation, Rosen Method, and Transformational Bodywork TM.
