Alexander was phenomenal. I went to him for a deep tissue massage to address some tightness that had arisen from my yoga practice. He was very friendly and professional, and his space was quiet and clean. Per his advisory, the massage was definitely not gentle, but it was deeply healing. He always made a point to coach me through moments where I was experiencing heightened discomfort due to built-up tension. I was particularly impressed with how sensitive he was to the slightest movements within different muscle groups (even when I wasn't aware of them myself). We chatted for about 10 minutes afterward, and I was impressed with his thoughtfulness. He explained that we often carry tightness and pain in certain areas as manifestation of experiences and feelings. He encouraged me to 1) notice what feels different after bodywork and 2) consider what may have caused it. Many bodyworkers speak to the psychosomatic nature of muscle tension, but our conversation was particularly enlightening for me. His candor and kindness really made the experience for me. Do yourself a favor and book a session with Alex!Apr 3, 2017Verified
Alexander was amazing - probably the best bodywork I have ever done. Looking forward to continue working with him.Mar 25, 2019Verified
Alexander was great to work with. He was very attentive from the start and listened to understand what would make for the best massage experience. He answered my questions and even suggested some stretches to practice at home. After a couple of days I'm still feeling limber and some of my aches and pains have subsided for the time being. I would highly recommend.Feb 21, 2019Verified

Highly recommend Alex. I had a 90-minute session to work on some deep tissue issues and sore muscles. Alex is talented, knowledgeable and intuitive -- thank you!Sep 5, 2017Verified

- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?$190/60 minutes $220/90 minutes $260/2 hours
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?I start by doing a quick interview with the person I'm working with. I like to ask questions that help me to understand any discomfort in the body/mind and where (if unknown) it could be stemming from. I ask about any past injuries/surgeries, and inquire around spots in the body that need the most focus. For clients who are interested in the more emotional, and trauma related work, I ask some questions around what they're working with, and how they'd like to move through their experience. Once on the table, I address the entire body. I work with my clients to teach them how to breath into their bodies, and become more embodied in their awareness as well as how to breath into deeper pressure that may feel painful. Afterwards, I allow time to process anything that happened during the session, and offer stretches, or anything that I think might be useful to help aid my clients for after care.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?Over 1200 hours (and counting) of training in massage, and bodywork. Focus in Swedish, deep tissue, structural integration, myofascial release, Reiki, Rosen Method, and Transformative Bodywork. I’ve also developed my own bodywork technique called SomaSyn bodywork.
