Introduction: The urban lifestyle can lead to many various stresses from work and play. I began to reconsider my journey through life after 13 years of dealing with my stresses. Instead of turning to anti-depressants or other mood stabilizing therapies I found fitness to help with emotional stress, but that often left my body tense and sore. I took advantage of a 60 minute massage gift and in that short time 2 weeks of stress, sadness, confusion, anger, anxiety, and body aches were undone. I had found my new path in life. I quickly gave my two weeks notice and started an intense 750 hour massage therapy program.
One of the best parts of my massage training was that I would be receiving massage several times per week for the duration of the program. This changed my life. It took me years to realize the simple concept that touch was a missing link that i needed to totally transform my life. As I began to professionally touch people, I realized that the ability to give massage is as rewarding as receiving one.
The benefits of massage are numerous, especially for people living the city life. Massage can be powerful, but is only a quick fix unless you are consistent with it: weekly, every six weeks, or even every 3 months.
