We had an amazing experience with Sat Khalsa for our wedding. He understood our needs perfectly, and went as far as researching traditional Mexican cuisine (which is quite complex... way beyond the beans, rice & guacamole that most Americans know as Mexican food) and creating a new exotic vegetarian dish that everyone loved. It was delicious!
Alisa is very professional. Her food was very delicious and everyone enjoyed her cooking. On Nov 9, 2014 our non profit outreach organization held a fund raising event. Everyone told me her food was out of this world. I highly recommend Alisa's services. Alisa is amongst the best around the Bay Area. My husband Garth, myself and our volunteers enjoyed Alisa and her tasty dishes.
We decided last minute to hire a chef for a family dinner for some out of town relatives. Grace was very responsive and easy to work with. Within a few convos on Thumbtack we finalized the menu. I have a relatively small kitchen so I asked if Grace could do most of the prep offsite and come here to cook, which she did. She arrived early and was fully prepared. She served appetizers first and then prepared the main courses while we nibbled. She was very professional, friendly and cleaned up the kitchen afterwards. As for the food ... delicious - we really enjoyed our meal! The pork shoulder was a very unique dish; I've never had anything like it before and the sauce that went with it was equally amazing. This was definitely the most popular dish of the evening. The steak was also delicious - very tender, perfectly cooked to medium rare and the sauce was great. The parsnip-apple mash was also a very unique dish and very tasty. A little sweet but not overpowering. The roasted cauliflower was delicious. Our starters were the spring rolls & the beet and endive salad. We didn't know the spring rolls were vegetarian (and we're big meat eaters) so this was not our favorite. The peanut sauce was amazing though! The beet and endive salad was also good. Overall I'm really glad I found Grace. She was really easy to work with, the food was great!! She also has a chinese food menu and we can't wait to try that. We will definitely be hiring Grace again!!
Dani is great and takes ideas into opportunities. We use her catering once a week at my company for lunch and when I asked if she could try a taco bar the following week, she said absolutely. Not only did she make this adjustment to our catering, but she sent over another Mexican menu as well as one of another theme should this be of interest to the company.
Everything was amazing! Loved having Graham in our home cooking and helping us entertain friends. Food was delicious and we were so happy to have a clean kitchen at the end of the night. The perfect way to host and be able to enjoy at the same time.
Wanting to learn to cook lower calorie food that still had great flavor, I hired Zac to come to my home and teach in our kitchen. My husband is our (excellent) cook, I am not a cook (at fifty-something years old), presenting a bit of a challenge. Rising to the occasion, Zac planned a meal that read like the menu at French Laundry! Panic!There was no way I could prepare this meal. Zac said...Way! He met me at Sonoma Market to introduce me to fresh everything, not packaged anything! Back at our kitchen, the magic began and WOW! Probably one of the most delicious dinners I've ever had at home, and certainly rivaling 5 star restaurants. Our cooking and dining experience was nothing short of superb and better yet, not a dollop of butter or a drop of cream was used to create the fantastic soup, salad, and complex main course. Through Zac's exceptional knowledge of herbs and spices, he taught me to create extraordinary flavors to enhance the food, and not over power it. It was a brilliant evening of cooking! Zac is easy going, yet very assured, and his ability to communicate is second to none. Remarkable job by a talented young man who will be continuing to educate us in the kitchen and most assuredly catering events for us. Bravo, Zac...Bravo!
We had Anja come over and do a cooking class for our company employees and significant others. She helped craft an amazing menu, wine pairings and tasty treats. Everything went off without a hitch and people couldn't stop raving about how much they enjoyed her instruction. While the food was great, it was her personality and pleasant spirit that really made this an awesome experience. Couldn't recommend her more highly.
We absolutely loved our french cooking lesson with Mashav! She created a custom menu for the class based on our suggestions and fresh local ingredients. She walked us through each step carefully and answered all of our questions. The final result -- 4 made-from-scratch french dishes -- was phenomenal. To top it all off, Mashav was very organized and easy to plan the class with.
Sophie was amazing! She's the real deal in terms of cooking, explaining things and making things simple. I'm so glad I hired her. I'll definitely hire her again!
Jess taught a cooking class for my sister's bachelorette party, and did a fabulous job. All the food was delicious, she included everyone, and she tailored the class to fit our lack of experience. We all learned so much and had a great time, as well! I highly recommend her.
Great experience! I had planned last minute and Keith was able to expedite everything in a timely manner. I knew I put a lot of pressure on timing but what was great was he asked me a lot of clarifying questions to make sure he knew what I needed for my birthday party. My party wasn't too big it was a small gathering out in the yard of my home. So with that being said, I wanted to make sure my party still looked like I had put in effort so I asked if he had any themed menus which made everything a bit more easier to plan. So I went for a Mexican style menu and it was awesome. I mean even the little decor he provided with the meal was fantastic I was really impressed. I recommend Keith! Whatever you're looking for he's the guy. He listens to what you want and takes effort in making sure he gives you what you're looking for. Thanks a bunch!! Will hire again.
Elyse is incredible! I hired her to cater my sister's baby shower and she did such an amazing job that I went on to hire her as my personal chef. I am currently finishing my doctorate degree and at the time I had classes from 8:00AM-9:00PM which made it difficult for me to make healthy meals. Every week Elyse would deliver a basket filled with delicious home-cooked meals that were catered to my personal tastes. She was always open to suggestions and requests, and found creative ways to make certain dishes vegetarian for me. When I was feeling under the weather, she made me an amazing miso soup and other dishes to help me feel better. I was so sad when she left the Bay Area to go to the East Coast; her cooking was the highlight of my week. As a caterer, she is very professional. She will work closely with you to create a menu that will suit the occasion perfectly. She really takes care of everything to make sure you can relax and indulge in a fantastic meal. Every guest at my sister's shower raved about the food and all wanted to hire her for their next event.
I took a cooking class with Inbal and a small group of friends and was very satisfied by the experience. Inbal is extremely knowledgable and was very gracious and answered all of our silly questions. There was so much very basic info we didn't know! The biggest benefit for me was learning how to keep cooking simple. I tend to over think things and end up getting overwhelmed. Cooking isn't as scary anymore. I would definitely recommend her classes.
I did a 3-hour cooking class with Alejandra. She is fantastic! She is an excellent teacher, both with respect to general culinary techniques and to details of specific recipes. Her food is fresh, tasty, and quite simple to prepare. She establishes a friendly, easy-going atmosphere in the class, and has a great sense of humor. She is superbly trained in classical French cuisine but also has experience in Thai and Ecuadorian foods. Yes, she went above and beyond what I expected. What could have been improved? Well, nothing! Anita is knowledgeable and explains clearly any cooking steps. Its a pleasure to cook as she teaches and one gains a secure understanding of the recipe since she allows for the student their own thinking space and doesn't "hold your hand" too much.
I had friends visiting from out of town and wanted to host a dinner party at my home for them. All my guests were picky eaters in one way or another, so I hired Chef John to prepare a customized meal to suit the tastes of all my guests. Chef John worked with me to come up with a full menu of appetizers, a salad, main dishes and desserts. Everything was amazing and each guest was thrilled to have their own custom made meal. The dessert was tiramisu which, I have to say, was the best I have ever had (and I have had LOTS of tiramisu in my life). Chef John cooked in my kitchen, cleaned up everything and left my kitchen spotless. Chef John is definitely my "go to" private chef from now on!
I must admit that I was a bit skeptical about raw foods, BUT Chef Tena *truly* changed my mind (and body). She has an innate talent, not only with recipe creation, and food preparation, but also with making food *beautiful.* I didn't have any real favorites, since they were ALL over-the-top delicious! Her foods make by body SING and feel ALIVE!
I had one of the best cooking experience with Chef Joe. The class was so well designed and the pace was just perfect for anyone with all sorts of cooking levels. Chef Joe was so knowledgable, patient, and he was also very funny. My boyfriend and I walked away leaning a tons!
