Introduction: Being strong and fit is never a bad thing. Obviously, this is relative to your needs, wants and abilities. Generally, my clients come to me to lose weight, build muscle, and to look and feel better. Through a balanced strength and conditioning program I offer just that. Along the way my clients learn proper form and technique and the confidence to workout on their own, safely and productively. For my more experienced clients, we work on refining movements, addressing lack of progress, and more advanced programming. The key with everyone, from complete beginner to advanced trainer, focusing on moving well in order to be safe, healthy, and to be able to continue to train. Being fit, strong, and healthy isn’t always easy and I don’t offer quick fix solutions, gimmicks, or false promises. Expectations need to be realistic and lasting results take time. Be prepared to work hard, but within your comfort zone. Be prepared to learn, at your own pace. When and if you are ready to be pushed outside of your comfort zone, we will do that. When you are ready to increase the pace, we will do that. Though many of my clients’ workouts are similar, they are all tailored to the individual. I do not offer generic 12 week programs. I plan out each week, but allow for necessary alterations. Each workout is assessed and the appropriate progressions are laid out for next week. For more advanced lifters, more specific goals are set and a bigger overall program is outlined. But again, this tailored to the individual and is assessed and changed as necessary. We are all human, but we all respond differently to exercise, both physically and mentally. This is where the art of personal training and coaching comes into play. I need to get to know you as a trainee and an individual so I can best provide you with the service you deserve.

Personal Training

James is an excellent personal trainer: patient, enthusiastic, empathetic and, let's face it, he knows what he is doing. When I first contacted him I was hoping to have a couple of sessions to improve my technique in some weight lifting exercises. Last week I had my session #25. Every session is different, challenging and super fun! I am very happy with the results and I highly recommend James!

Personal Training

I didn't know what to expect going into my first personal training experience. I needed accountability, motivation and knowledge. I would go to the gym here and there, but mainly stuck to cardio since I had no idea what I was doing. From the first consultation, James was very laid back, nonjudgmental and easy to communicate with. Our sessions typically consisted of a warm-up, weight training and a 'circuit', which usually left me unable to breath (in a good way!). James is very flexible - when I wanted to change some things up or if I was interested in doing something different - he was very accommodating. He is very knowledgeable and ensured I performed the exercises properly. He would also explain some of the mechanics behind the moves, which was appreciated. After a random injury (falling down some stairs on my one time), James modified our routine for safety and helped guide me into healing with suggestions on what I needed to do, specific stretches, etc. I really feel that because of his guidance during this time, I was able to bounce back while building strength. If you are looking for someone you can learn proper technique from while getting a solid, consistent workout, I would definitely recommend James. He also accepts Venmo!

Personal Training

I found James through thumbtack after months of working with an awful trainer, seeing no results and being extremely frustrated by my body and the money that I was throwing down the drain with my previous trainer. James was super fun the first time I met him for my orientation and assessment. Working out with him has been fun, energetic and I'm noticing results with my strength. I work out with him twice a week and then try to get in two days of cardio on my own as well. I'm not where I want to be with my body yet but I'm definitely satisfied by James services. He's funny, fun, pushes me to my limits and doesn't take whining for an answer! I'm determined to have a beautiful summer bod this year and I think I'm getting really close thanks to my workouts with James!!!

Personal Training

I didnt want a trainer that didnt understand me. James gets it. He spent a lot of time with me in order to understand my needs and how i work. He helps motivate me by inspiring me and always recognizes the positive. He is not an aggressive scary trainer. He works at a pace that works and always tries to get you to push yourself without being overly aggressive. James is kind, sincere and listens when I speak. He gets me and I am thankful for it. We have been working out for a few months and it def. helps.

Well well well...what can we say about Sir James Pitts other than are you ready for Pittsanity? Actually James is not an in your face yell at you trainer by any means. If you are looking for that then he is not your man. But if you are looking for a partner on your journey to a better body, more balanced life, and better life then he is your man. You bring the desire and he brings the skills and experience to help you achieve your goals...oh yeah and he also brings the weights too. How cool is that, wherever you are he comes to you and charges you what he would have to pay if he ubered to you and back. I keep telling him he needs to up his rates as he is so worth it. The other part about his program is his moderate progression. You always leave wanting to do a bit more (well maybe not always) but most times. That means you don't burn out and you don't get injured. Smart! He was also an extra in a movie in LA once. I wont reveal the movie but if you work with him make sure to ask him about his mad actor creds. In the meantime what are you waiting for? Get off your butt and give James a call. Are you read for Pittsanity? :)
