Introduction: I'm a 2nd generation tuner/tech with decades of experience in private homes, concert halls, and recording studios. I initially trained at my father's piano tuning school, and had the privilege of working and learning from the finest technicians in the SF Bay Area and beyond. I also spent 10 year teaching piano tuning. It will be my pleasure to free your family piano of sticky keys, squeaks and buzzes, or make your professional-grade piano produce angelic tones from a blisteringly fast piano action. My brand specific training in Yamaha, Steinway, Mason & Hamlin, Kawai, and Bösendorfer means I can quickly diagnose problems. I have broad experience with Schimmels, Petrofs, and other European and Asian pianos.

Vince was great. He provided me an overview of what he was going to do and as I checked in on him he shared what he had done and why aside from just tuning the individual keys. He found things that other piano timers should have found but never looked. And he has me in the calendar for a reminder for our next tuning. We can increase the frequency or keep based on our playing habits. Great work. See yo next time.

Vincent did a great job tuning our Baldwin. He is very knowledgeable about the details of pianos and their care, and also about the history and different makes of pianos and their sounds. He was great at responding to texts right away and staying in touch. Already requested a date for him to return.

I’m glad to have SF Piano Works tune my piano. He was thorough in explaining the problems and what he did to repair it. I will surely keep him as my piano tuner.

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

Basic tuning is $175, Signature Tuning Service is $225. Service packages start at $295 and can be seen on my website when booking.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

When working with a new client, I love talking about their piano with them, its history, and their specific needs. There are key components I will inspect before tuning, but the best way to evaluate a piano is to tune it. It's part structural, part tonal, and part feel. Once the tuning has been completed, I can provide an estimate for work selected to benefit you and your playing style.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I hold a bachelor’s of music with emphasis in vocal performance from Long Beach State, had 2 years of apprenticeship training for piano services, followed by 10 years of teaching piano tuning. I also have 20+ years of stage experience as operatic tenor, 15+ years bass guitarist. I continue to attended numerous conventions and classes, have attended Yamaha programs including the Yamaha Performance Piano training seminar.
