Introduction: If you are looking to learn a musical instrument as a hobby, we will focus on basic technique and note reading while building some beginning repertoire. For those wishing to pursue music more seriously, I believe in a strong foundation of technique, music theory, and ear training as well as building a repertoire that will serve you well for future auditions. I also believe it is important to learn to practice efficiently and be unafraid to explore your musical ideas. If you aren't quite sure where you want your musical journey will take you, we will work together to figure out what works best for you. I am a Bay Area based professional violinist and violist, and I trained at the Juilliard Pre-College and the San Francisco Conservatory of music. I recently left my professional string quartet of the last 6 years. Now I spend my timw freelancing in the Bay area, while also traveling to NYC about once a month to sub on the Broadway show "Come From Away." Though I personally started violin lessons at a young age, I strongly believe that any age can be the right age to learn a musical instrument. I am available to teach at my apartment in San Rafael, or can come to you for an additional fee. Please feel free to contact me with any questions!
