Introduction: My motto: "Dry" topics don't have to be dull. My areas of expertise and interest: personal finance, small-biz management, urban planning and environmental issues. They're far from boring to cover -- I've tagged along with a Secret Service agent hunting identity theft gangs online, and got my "investing fortune" read by a palm reader/technology consultant. * I was a staff writer for Self, Money and Red Herring magazines. Now as a San Francisco-based freelancer, I write for print and Web publications including Bankrate, AdvisorMax, Edutopia, Harvard Management Update and MSNBC.com. * On the Internet side, I was editor of Quicken.com, covering finance and small-business topics for 2.5 million users. * All the knowledge I've gained has led me to regular corporate writing assignments. Recent clients include Intuit, Cisco Systems, and the University of California. I have worked as an editor for a custom publishing company, working with clients like Comcast and the Credit Union League of California to create magazines and newsletters for their customers.
