Carol C. says, "The Roof Masters did a remarkable roof replacement job for our one hundred year old house. Initially locating them using the Thumbtack website, I reviewed all the recommendations there and in both Yelp and Home Adviser and the CA State Licensing Board. There was not one single bad review anywhere and there were lots of reviews. Our plan was to get three estimates before deciding on which licensed contractor to hire. After meeting with their project manager, Jhonny Martinez, we knew that this was the company we wanted to hire. The other two estimates would not be necessary. Jhonny is a great representative of The Roof Masters. He was very professional yet friendly. He conducted a thorough inspection of the roof, including photos, and presented a complete estimate describing the removal, installation and warranty of the new roof. We were pleased at the cost and ultimately, at the professional installation that followed. Company owner, Rudy Verdugo, met with us first thing on day one and introduced us to his crew. Rudy followed the progress by phone and was always available for questions. Job foreman, Frankie, and his three-man crew did a great job. The crew was very polite and always busy. They showed up clean every morning and left coated in decades worth of dirt and sawdust by the end of each day. After removing two layers of shingles and the original wood roof, they shored up the century old beams, applied new plywood, paper and the shingles we selected. They cleaned around our property daily, and finished the job in three days. While we won’t need a new roof anytime soon, if we did, The Roof Masters would be the only company to call "See more

Do you need a permit to install gutters?

You may or may not need a permit. It depends on your location. In some cities, you may need a permit if you reside in a historic district or if the gutter installation project impacts the right of way.

Check with your local public works office, permitting center or government office to see the requirements in your area. You can even contact gutter installation pros near you and ask if they know what the permit requirements are in your city.

How long does gutter installation take?

The majority of gutter installations take several hours or a whole day from start to finish. One factor that may cause the installation process to take longer is if you have a large or custom home. To find out how long it will take to replace your gutters, contact the best pros and ask for a free estimate.

When should gutters be replaced?

Gutter systems made out of aluminum and galvanized steel have an expected lifespan of 20 years. Copper gutters may last 50 years or more. If your gutters are older than 20 to 50 years, it might be time to replace them.

Here are some additional signs that indicate you might need to replace your gutters:

  • Holes or cracks in the gutters
  • Leaking or pools of water
  • Splitting gutters
  • Loose or broken fasteners
  • Peeling and cracking
  • Rot and mildew
  • Excessive rust

Contact the best gutter installation services near you to inspect your gutters, and decide if the gutters should be repaired or replaced.

Do roofers install gutters?

Yes, some roofing companies and contractors also offer gutter installation services. If this is the case and you’re already having roofing work done, it’s a good idea to combine gutter installation with the job. This will likely save you money, as the crew will already be present and set up for the job.

Other options for getting your gutters installed include gutter installation contractors, general contractors and handymen. Just make sure the professional you’re hiring is properly licensed, trained and insured to install your gutters.
