I hired David to do some repair work on my closet doors. He arrived on time and completed the job in a timely manner. He was also good at improvising a solution.
I was in urgent need for a handyman, as a large part of a wall, insulation & floor in my storage closet was damaged by my leaking water heater. I decided to try Thumbtack and was very happy to see that Arisel from AA Cardenas reached out to me and said he can start work immediately. He was very prompt in replying, and very easy to reach on phone & text before, during and after the work was completed. When he came, he assessed the work to be done, gave me a very clear outline of materials needed and the labor cost. He told me he could finish the work in 2 days, which is exactly what my deadline was, and he did finish all the work in 2 days flat! He offered to go and pick up all the material from the hardware store, and worked till late on the first day to make sure he got as much work done as possible. He was very professional in putting up new insulation, patch sheet rock, applying texture to blend with existing wall texture and paint the area. He always cleaned up before he left and was very open to me asking questions about various things he was working on. Arisel was very nice to talk to as well, and he was accommodating to all my questions. He even came back 4 days later, at my request, to put floor molding. Overall, I'm extremely satisfied with the work Arisel did, and would definitely hire him again.
Ricardo was great. He was on-time,quick and easy to work with. He did several small jobs for us- touched up paint, replaced a faucet, fixed the bath tub drain, and fixed the closet doors. I'm glad we found him!
Michael was SO incredibly helpful!! I was so stressed out about unpacking and organizing in my new (much smaller) apartment and he was amazing. He not only helped me unpack but he organized and folded my clothes and we came up with a plan for how to store everything; he even helped me find something as a second hanger for my closet so I have tons of extra room. He was on time; incredibly efficient; and a pleasure to be around. I'll definitely use his services again and recommend him to all of my friends!
Matt was hired to replace an old broken hinge on a closet door. When the hinge was replaced and it was time to hang the door matt asked me for the pin for the top hinge. Turns out i lost it weeks earlier. Since the new hinge had a slightly different diameter pin matt had to replace the top hinge with a new one. He did this at no cost to me. I got two hinges replaced for the price of one!! Matt performed the entire job in about 15 minutes. He arrived on time and did an excellent job. I give Matt top marks for workmanship and people skills.
Fred did a great job, squeezing three projects into one day. (A closet install, door lock change, and a kitchen faucet install). Managed to troubleshoot some slightly unusual situations with creative solutions. There was a glitch in the faucet install, and Fred returned promptly to repair at no charge (even though it was likely due to the age of plumbing and not anything he missed).
Jasper helped me assemble my Elfa closet from the Container Store. He was quick and courteous. Recommended!
Tomas was right on time and he was also very courteous. He came and looked at my bed and repaired it. He was in and out in less than 1 hour. I was confused with a pricing issue which I thought I saw on his profile and Tomas contacted me the same day to resolve my issue which turned out to be something I saw on another service provider's site. Tomas did a fine job with the repair of my bed and I am satisfied with his service.
I hired Unlimited to reinstall a bathtub faucet that had fallen off. I did not get a bid from Unlimited. Instead, the owner asked me to check his website and call him. At the same time, another company asked me for more and more details (what brand of fixture we had, pictures of the shower wall). I was still going back and forth with that company, when Unlimited's plumber arrived. He showed up when promised. He wore shoe coverings. He kept me apprised of the job the whole way (a nipple had corroded all the way through, and he had to chip away at it and open a patch through my bedroom wall to finally knock the old part out). The actual repair took about 10 minutes. I'm pleased with the work. The reason for the four stars, instead of the five stars is that he left a lot of grit on the shower wall and in the bathtub. I didn't have a good sense of how long the job would take from start to finish. I had agreed to pay by the hour. He didn't have parts with him. He had to leave to go to a hardware store and then return, and I had to leave the house at a set time. But the bottom line for me is that the faucet looks good two days out, and I have a working bathtub.
Brian was punctual, professional, and friendly! He did an excellent job with the repair - highly recommended.
Crespo added 2 slowers for commercial doors and fixed the hinge that locks the door. If I need any other repairs, I will use him again. He was professional, knowledgeable, and reasonable as far as pricing. Thanks for your help. -Abby Ganzon
Thanks Thumbtack, I had a baseboard replaced in my bathroom and a broken sliding door lock fixed and dis-assemble closet racks in my Master bedroom and change shower fixture...i'm happy with the service and will definitely use your service again soon..
Designed and remodeled my garage; painted; and other work. Timely, fair, and high quality work.
Wes did some general home repairs..he was very fast and reliable.
Great job on replacing our railing and balusters. Old railing was an unstable metal structure with too big of gaps between the balusters, Victor installed solid wood posts and wrought iron balusters to the design we wanted. He did good work, final result looks just like we wanted, and did a good job fixing all holes/scratches from old railing and installation process. The reasons why I'm taking off one star are that work took longer than previously planned, so final cost was higher than expected (by 15%). He did put in a couple of hours on top of the final charge, so I appreciated that to offset the delays. The work was overall pretty clean, though on the second layer of wood stain (on the rail and posts) there was a good sized stain left on the carpet that I'm not sure anything will really take out without damage to the carpet. Overall, reliable and quality work, will use his services again for other house repairs/renovations.
Cheong was very cooperative about willingness to come back and redoing some work after initial repair of fence. Good value and good worker.
Regina and Jason were simply incredible. From the beginning Regina was honest about costs and timelines. I really appreciated that their proposal was not just a figure, but a complete breakdown of each part of our bathroom remodel and associated costs. I could not be more happy about how the project turned out and the experience of working with Regson. I would no doubt work with them again and will be recommending them to everyone I know.
He was respectful of my home by preparing the space before and after the repair. He had a positive disposition and was informative.
Henry was recommended by my real estate agent when I had to do some last minute work on my condo. One closet needed to be repainted and the closet organizer needed to be reassembled which was not an easy task since they were no plans and some of the materials needed to be adjusted. Henry gave me a quick estimate, did the job the next day. I am impressed with the outstanding quality of the work and the professionalism during the process. I'm going to hire him to do some work on my new property and I will refer him to my friends.
I had tile installed in my bathroom and laundry room. I have had many compliments on how beautiful it is.
We had them install a closet system that we ordered from EasyClosets.com. Overall, the end result was high quality, and that was the most important thing for me. However, I'm only giving four stars due to poor customer service. So first, there was a fairly significant error in the installation. Not the end of the world, and they agreed to fix it (a nontrivial amount of work) at no extra charge. Fine. Doing so required coming back a second day. Okay, no problem. Then there was a scheduling mixup with that followup appointment, for which they apologized and rescheduled. Fair enough, still not that big a deal. But then there was apparently a second mixup – one mixup seems like just an honest mistake, but after that, I would expect you to be more careful, and failing that, I would expect you to be extremely apologetic. Instead, after the second mixup, they unapologetically told me it was going to be a full week before they could fit us in. And that was to be at an inconvenient time. I pointed out how they had already inconvenienced us twice with the scheduling mixups, and I insisted they make it right by finding a sooner time. Thankfully, they did manage to fit us in just a few days later and at a more convenient time. So anyway, everything was ultimately installed well, and I'm happy with where we ended up. I just felt like they didn't have the level of professionalism and customer service I would have hoped for.
